My N3DS XL is suffering from flickering issue today. I think its hardware related because the flicker issue persist with within all application and games both in 3D and non 3D mode. Does anybody have this issue? Is there any fix for this =(. It flickers constantly like 20hz or something. Its playable but really annoying.

I have never open up my console apart from changing micro sd and i really kept it well. never fall before. I also rarely use the console anyway.

Yea, i removed the battery for and hour or so. Then try again. That helps thank god. Its now gone and hope it stays that way.

No its not from the setting. Its probably cause by voltage issue/static or whatever the electronic problem is that causes the issue.

At first I was like exploitable n3ds are rare n expensive ><. Dont die like this pleasee.

Ok..but did you try to remove the settings for automatic brighness and power saver? Because those settings does a flickering hen the evironement is changing, for exemple when you are near a light or the sun, it will auto adjust the brighnest constantly.. atleast try it, you,il see a difference if its one of your cause :P

You ought to know that problems that go away by themselves usually come back.

As for the post subject, it's most likely Nintendo's manufacturer's failure to properly hook up the screen. Try getting phone support with Ninty (not chat, I believe they don't handle returns and repairs).

yep , i think the ribbon cable stuff might be loose or something..
i only once clapped the screen kind of harddd and i think that could have given me the flicker issues..

but thankfully its all fine since months its been great .. will have to be more careful when using it from now.

+1 for loose/sketchy flex cable. I'm afraid Nintendo (or a decent repair guy) are the only ones that can permanently fix it.

Does it make the screen look darkish? harder to read?
I may have had it too. I couldn't put my finger on it what changed on my upper screen as I was playing fire emblem awakening.
Everything suddenly seemed darker and harder to read.
Even on the Nand/emunand.
Turned it on and off, still was like that.

Left it off for some hours then tried again, and it was gone...
Very weird.
I have N3ds XL also.

It sounds as if you punched your screen. Dead pixel, 3D-caused glossiness, flickering...

Did you shake it a lot?
