Was trying out some rxTools test builds (I was "taking it apart" and changing a few things :P) and boop, brick xD I cba to restore my NAND, atm.
Stopped in your tracks ! ^^ I wasn't expecting that XD

BTW, do you know how rxTools patches work ? Specificly the emuNAND redirection ? I need to patch a clean decrypted native-firm.

Haha. And nope, I don't know how it works. Sorry. I'm learning about this stuff so I'm messing with rxTools to do just that :P

Your guess is as good as mine :)

How can rxtools get your 3ds bricked? only if you mess up things with your sysnand right

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also can i fix my 3ds by opening it up and attaching wires to the nand output to gpio and using rpi unbrick program or what it was on the raspberry pi. mine isnt bricked yet but will that work well?

I have also been using beta 9 for a few weeks and it has been crashing my old 3ds a lot. And sometimes it soft bricks when i try to load rxmode so is the beta 8 gadorach build better?

This is my advice but yes, really, even for the compatibility.

So is it that the older the build is the more stable it is? Or is it just normal beta testing stages with latest being mostly unstable and beta 8 was just a normal stable release. Thanks

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Woah beta 8 is good, even first boot it didn't softbrick

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

And the icons and banners load faster and titles show up instantly (9.2.0-20E Sysnand)

Yeah, you see. Both are "alphas", unstable release but in fact, something has change in the beta 9. Beta8-fix is really the most stable 3.0 release before nightlies & n3DS support.

What goal does rxtools aim to achieve and what does the pasta team want? I read many posts accusing the pasta team of being pirates and their work going all to piracy

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I just think rxtools is cool a nice cfw that lets you run unsigned code. it can be used for anything, not just piracy

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

a year ago i thought a cfw for 3ds will be impossible or no one will bother making a good cfw for 3ds

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

and i feel the 3ds how it works is similar to wii, both have NANDs and emuNANDs and patched updates and a titles system

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

and also i want to make an rxtools theme for chmm or home menu

Edit posts. Don't post multiples.

You don't attach the wires to the GPIO of the Pi. That's not how it works.
