I got a Samsung Tab A to replace my old Nexus 7 2012 and after looking up Google, I find that it's not that difficult to root it. This is my first time trying to root it and one of the first thing that I want to do is remove the Samsung bloatware and the Microsoft apps that has been included as well.

What I want to know is if it's safe to remove everything by Samsung/Microsoft or if there's an essential one that can affect how my Tab A runs?

Which is the custom rom that is pure vanilla Google Android so that it can be installed?

Check xda for your device, loads of ROMs to choice form.

But if you have Omni, cyanogenmod or paranoid android for your device you can not go wrong with those.

But check xda and see what people on they say.

EDIT: how new is this device I couldn't find the device section? Did you?

Quite new. Came out a few months ago I think.

Normally a device has 100's of threads about everything about the device. From talking about the device to ROMs to kernels to other hacks.

Not much stuff. Maybe still too early for the tablet.

Here's hoping the community will support this tablet. I was thinking of going for the Tab S but that was too much for me and the Tab A was on sale at the time.

In the mean time, you can root and search around XDA for lists of Samsung apps that can be disabled, there are usually dozens of them that will give you a general idea of which are ok to remove. Since your tablet is rather new, I suggest checking older Galaxy Tab model sections, they'll normally have a list of Samsung apps that can be removed safely which will give you a good idea of what you can remove, they don't usually change their bloat software often.

You can use Titanium Backup to freeze/uninstall the apps (if you go the uninstall route, I recommend backing them all up first just in case).
