I did the whole GW and it is working ... but I couldn't launch it through the profile expolit nor unlink sysnad and emunand .

I installed SMT IV cia on my emunand and tried to run it.
It says that an error has occurred and tells me to hold the power button to turn off the system.
Now whenever I try to boot my emunand using rxtools, it just gives me a black screen and I'm not able to access anything in emunand.
Rxtools and emunand was working before and I was able to play other games like Pokemon AS.
Did I brick my emunand?
How can I fix it?

Hello. I wanted to get back into playing my 3ds and I lost my EOU copy, so now I want to start backing up my games in case something happens to another game of mine.
my firmware is 7.1 IIRC, is it possible to backup my games and play them without cubic ninja or a flashcard?

I've looked around and installed the rxtools cfw and updated the emunand to 9.9.
are there any qol programs I should install for the cfw?
I will look around now on how to dump my games and convert them to cia

I'm not sure. You should be able to use BigBlueMenu to install all the .cias at once again, if that's a suitable option.

Just wondering, my friend has a 2DS on 7.1. How would he go about updating to a FW where ninjhax 1.0 and pasta are supported? I checked 3ds.essh.co and apparently shin megami tensei 2 has a required firmware of 8.1.0U, which I believe will work with Ninjhax/pasta. How can I be sure that the game will update to that firmware and that the system doesn't update all the way to 9.9? Can anyone give a foolproof step by step so I don't mess this up?

Also, would it be better to just use a ROM of the game for the update or the .cia file of the game?

I believe you can run even the newest games. I've been playing a patched version of the new JPN fire emblem for a while now.

There are way too many tutorials online, and I can safely say there is no "Simple" one with the idea that, if you follow the steps and don't understand what you're doing you could really screw yourself up on the way in, or after you've done your work. One tutorial I've used twice is right here. and if terms begin to confuse you, review this glossary.

Keep in mind there are a few parts in that pastebin tutorial that might be a touch confusing.

1. Place Launcher.dat, rxTools.dat, firmware.bin, slot0x25KeyX.bin, fbi_inject.app and fbi_inject.tmd pertaining to your region into the SD card root

Firmware.bin is something you'll want to download from another source.

The fbi_inject.app and .tmd come in many formats. Try running the install in a later step THEN use the error to determine what the proper version of these files you'll need.

! If you're getting a "NO DATABASE" error in FBI, open and close the eShop. Making title.db and import.db is dumb.

Make sure you do this. AFTER "10. Go back to the rxTools main menu and launch rxMode in emuNAND"

Read EVERYTHING.

If you feel stuck at some point, ask a question or two here and take a breather. If this is your first soft-mod it'll weigh down on your brain a bit. Play a game, watch a video and come back to it. Good luck.

If your 3ds is anywhere form 4.5-9.2 you can do this. Use the exploit to make an EMUNAND, install FBI and then you can do just about anything. Refer to the post above.

Hi all again

. I have a new 3ds xl on FW 9.0 with sky3ds. From what I understand is that emunand create a system image that i can go online with so i can stay on 9.0 on the original system version?

I've read and what i understood is that Reinand cfw can create an emunand on it? Is there any tutorial I can follow to do this? Everything is too overwhelming

Also, in reinad cfw topic it says" -Eshop(9.8 emunand o3ds only) Use A spoofer for N3ds" Which spoofer and is there a tutorial for it?

Again sorry but everything is overwhelming.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but how would I get a custom icon.bin on a .cia file to come up on Currently Playing in the friend menu or it says I'm playing what's on icon.bin on Streetpass. The injected VC .cia's come up with the title not being found, but something like FBI will come up on the friends menu and streetpass. Is there something I have to add to get this to work or is it something that I wouldn't be able to do?

Hi i dumped my cartridge and successfully ripped my private header (Monster Hunter 4/C2 manufacturer)
problem is the two games i want to play online are Pokemon Y (AE) and Mario Kart (45)
is there any way to modifiy my C2 header to be compatible to AE and 45?

I have a small question, I have a N3DS XL, and lately i have noticed that my battery drains a lot quicker in sleep mode. I play mostly cia's, if I get the gateway card out of the console will the battery last longer?? (The question is, does gateway drain a lot of battery?)
Im thinking about do a test, count the play time and the sleepmode time with and without gateway inside.
What do you guys think about it?

Question: What are custom firmwares for? Do they replace the original system menu, so I don't have to load the profile hack every time I turn the system on? (I have old 3ds with gateway)

Okay Guys I'm basically very new to this whole scene and just want to make sure I'm doing this stuff right...
So I have a N3DS XL running 9.9
A Sky3DS blue Button
And a copy of Cubic Ninja and also a copy of Fantasy Life.

Now lets say i want to play ssb or animal crossing using the sky3ds i download the rom and stuff and install it to the sd card
Then i need to change the private header for all games if im right.

But do I need to Dump from Fanatasy Life because it has online mode or is it possible from Cubic Ninja also?

And I know somehow there is a lot of hate between gateway fanboys and sky3ds fanboys but for my Situation I came to the Point that the Sky3DS is the only possible solution so please dont hate me using it.

How does one "open" up a rom? I am trying to start a rom translation and I dont know where to start. I actually have most of the actual translation done, but I have no idea how to implement the changes. Is there a way to tutorial or guide that someone can point me to?

The Gateway drains as much battery as any 3ds cart so no now I'm wondering what else did you do to ur System it could be a back ground app

TL; DR yes it is preferred that evey game you want online you should use a header from the game Cart or use a Cia file it may not be perfect (still bannable) but it is a lot harder for them to find than a gateway/sky with none
