So the "persistent hack" Smea has mentioned in his previous tweet was actually Ironhax? I think he has discovered something in the past days that led him to say "i am unbelievably excited to announce that you will *NOT* need cubic ninja or zelda to install #ironhax."

Therefore, the 'persistent hack' has been dissolved and led to the creation of IronHax. Cubic Ninja will now be $5 again!
I don't think cubic ninja will ever be quite that cheep ever again but the prices should deffinatly come down.

You would only loose the ability for kernal acceess. With ironhax it will be the exact same as cubic ninja on 2.0 .

And what about a persistant hack, if that's even a real upcoming thing.
Would that install on 9.2+Cubic Ninja or would that requre ironhax?
Or is it just too early to tell :P

How can I download ironfall on 9.5? Eshop wants to update my o3ds
9.4 is the last firmware to even have firmlaunchhax unpatched, though memchunkhax is patched, making it impossible to set up for now. If you're on 9.5, you're already past the patch-point for hacks. If you're staying on it for spiderhax, you'll have to decide what you want more.

What's the easiest way to spoof the eShop on my 9.0 n3DS XL?
That would be "FreeMultiPatcher", however, Ironfall Invasion won't run on 9.0FW, so it won't be useful to you. You're better off installing it on EmuNAND, or installing a CIA of Cubic Ninja. It's the same effect at that point.

well, from the Smea's tweets, it seems that from IronHax alone, you can load a ninjhax-like exploit from ironfall. That means you virtually wouldn't need cubic ninja+persistent hack at all as the exploit game is literally in your home screen. Also, ironfall only works on 9.5+.

Yup, in fact, here's the screen shot straight from his twitter

So this indeed a free exploit that will not require paid hardware/games to launch homebrew. Although I can't speak on behalf of Cubic Ninja sellers dropping their prices,.

I had actually bought my copy of Cubic Ninja a few weeks back. I thought about selling it when IronHax got announced, but I feel like it could be useful in case of an emergency. Plus, I'm not shipping my copy overseas if I were to sell it, since it's out of region for me. lol

I say keep it. It's a piece of history and a sort of memento. :D

Good for me, Cause I accidentally updated. I wanted somebody to do a Nand hardmod for me.
Ironhax won't magically re-enable gateway or rxTools, you'll still need a NAND mod to restore an older firmware for booting up actual CFWs.

Maybe. Probably really.
But there's no risk in downloading ironfall and giving ironhax a chance to surprise you.

This reminds me of what is likely to happen once ironfall does get pulled or a firmware update kills ninjhax: The whining of, "I didn't get the totally free game because X dumb reason" .
It hasn't even happened yet but it already makes me angry. :P
The only reason I held from updating was having region free at 9.5, so when Smea said Ironhax could do it, this was enough to have me "sold" into it even before he announced there was no need of anyhing extra

But yeah, people has reasons, there's some with 9.2, others with 4.x, of course they won't update now if they think they can do better with their versions than Ironhax.

So ironhax pretty much being the persistant exploit...that actually makes sense.
After some more doubt, I just updated to 9.9 and downloaded ironfall. It's on my homescreen indeed and that makes it more convenient than using the cubic ninja cartridge. Ironhax will run homebrew and that's all I want, just some emulators.

Also, I think it was totally unplanned. I think Ironfall + cubic ninja = Persistent Ninjhax. Freehax was another story. There was a part in his series of tweets that he postponed an announcement so that he can still work on it to 'confirm' something. Then found a way to run a ninjhax without cubic ninja. Ironhax became freehax.

I think that ironhax was always freehax and at one point it did use ninjhax to install but at some point smea found a way to install the homebrew launcher without cubic ninja. Thats also why i think his release changed from Sunday to later this week.

I was browsing through Smea's tweets and then found this:
"free hax requires a one time install from cubicnin or OOT."

Yep, I say he discovered something after that tweet. What a time to be alive.
