Gaming Question about 3DS with Ambassador games.

Last week I won an ebay auction for a 3DS with GBA/NES Ambassador games. Arrived today and it's a 9.2 3DS but the owner didn't download every single NES/GBA games.

I went to the NNID settings and it doesn't seem to have any NNID attached to it. My question is, if I add my NNID that I use on my 3DS XL, can I then transfer the games from the 3DS to the 3DS XL that I always use?

Another question is that I guess I have to update the 3DS to get the remaining games. Is 9.2 a valuable fimware if I have Cubic Ninja to run firmware or should I just wait a little longer to see what will happen?

9.2 is very valuable, especially with Ambassador games. However, I believe those games are linked to NNID and not the system, so if you add a NNID I don't think they will become linked to that account since they are likely linked to the account prior. I could be wrong though.

Anyway, if you have CN, you can use NTR/Project Pokemon to spoof your FW version and connect to eShop to get the remaining games - If they are linked to the NNID that is.

as long as the system was connected to the eshop during the promotion, it will be connected to the system. Pretty sure NNID didn't exist then, just like the wii. Also if it does have the Ambassador program it will need to be updated so you can access the eshop to download the games. There use to be a tool on the site the check your serial # to see if it was connected before august 2011, but they removed it awhile back. If you prove that the serial number is good, you can fight for the games. I sent my o3DS in for repair and they sent me a refurbished one, turned out it was eligible. I had to fight for over a month to get those games. They eventually caved and gave them to me, as it was their fault of not removing the ambassador status from the system.

What I found so far. If I click on the Miiverse, I get this message:

Unable to connect to the internet (didn't enter the Wifi yet)
Link a Nintendo Network ID to the system to be able to start using classic mode.
Miiverse will now close

Going to the Nintendo Network ID in the settings, I'm greeted with the welcome screen where it says I can create a Nintendo Network ID or link an existing one to the system.

Tomorrow I'm going to contact Nintendo's customer service to see if they could transfer the license. As a last resort, I'm going to bite the bullet and transfer my current 3DS XL to the Ambassador one and then back again. Looks like it will have to be updated.

Phoned up Nintendo UK's customer service today. Explained the situation and if it's possible to do a license transfer from the Non-NNID 3DS to the NNID 3DS XL.

Sadly they said that they can't do it because they don't have the system in place to carry it out.

I guess I'm going to have to make a decision between keeping 9.2 or upgrading it to get the rest of the games from the eshop.

I think I might just go ahead and system transfer. If I system transfer from the XL to the Ambassador 3DS and then back again, I could get all those NES/GBAgames without any problem?

Also, does system transfering affect the saves for the digital 3DS games I bought?

System transfer keeps all of your data, even saves for digital content.

Do not update man, with 9.2 you can literally go online and download the ambassador games, along with any GBA game ever made, from the internet and run them on your 3DS through custom firmware. You're limiting yourself big time if you update your system for system trasnfer.

Went ahead and just updated it. Doesn't help that all 9.2 exploits still requires Cubic Ninja and I can't use the upcoming Ironhax because I can't download it from eshop.

I'd have done a nand backup and tried the system transfer thing. Can always put the backup back on the console if it didn't work.
