It's still strange that it doesn't work because all homebrew applications use the same libWUP library.
admitable i have only been tryin these emulators through wiiflow. so i will try gensplus directly through the homebrew channel. personally i would ashume if it works with those other apps i have a good chance of it working in gensplus (or so i hope)

Can Retroarch be updated with the "genesis_plus_gx_libretro.dll" from the link you posted? I would typically be looking for a "genesis_plus_gx_libretro_wii.dol" file. Something with a .dol extension.

I tried the latest update, pretty nice!! Damn fine picture quality on my 32'' CRT. Only one small caveat compared to the previous version i used (1.7.4). A 10MB rom-hack named Ultimate Mortal Kombat Trilogy (v.22) based on UMK Mega Drive rom bad massively expanded & enriched with content. The hack (10MB rom as i said before) works perfect with 1.7.4 but gives a blue screen with 1.7.5.
This hack is known to crash on a real Genesis with flashcarts so it might actually be that the emulator has been made more accurate lol. I think there is an option to enable or disable in the emulator to get it running though, something that forces it to ignore errors happening on the console because of bugs in the game. I had to use it with some Sonic hacks that only worked on PC emulators.
Only just realised that there's a new build on the SVN! This is dated 16th December 2015, which is the second from latest commit.

Genesis Plus GX uses the drive signature check in libfat, so you can't really "add" support.
Just integrate this into your SDK and compile.

You'd need to code it, or reuse an open source code as a base. I think that was one of the main reasons for not adding it in those years. Maybe someday? It would certainly be nice and we can only dream for now.
