I thought they simply added two more cores clocked at 268Mhz.
Well, I just double checked my statement and made a program testing a simple for loop, definitely not something threads could help with, and my 3DSX build was about 2.5 times faster than my CIA build. I can't really imagine anything but a clock speed bump having that effect.

It makes sense though, the DSi had a speed bump. So why not the new3ds, It's odd that nintendo didn't publicize there system having a clock comparable to the Wii, but then again they never liked hardware specs.

But the DSi's ARM9 was identified as having double the clock speed of the DS's ARM9. That may be what's happening with the n3DS, but I was sure those who took it apart and ran tests identified it as having a quad-core ARM11 running at the same speed as the dual-core ARM11 in the o3DS. /shrug

That makes sense, but I'm not so sure. Yeah ARM11 is definetly running at the same speed. Though from what I can tell ARM9 is running at the same speed. I'm not really sure how to properly test it, though.

Yes I heard that too, but the speed difference is not insignificant enough to believe it could be accounted for by optimization. 2.5x the speed has to be a clock increase, I just wish I knew how CIAs could do this as well.

Hanging at launch, flashes "Initializing..."

Does this just take forever and I need to be patient, or is there something up with having the program previously installed on the SD card when I tried to load it (I deleted the previous settings file in hopes that would fix it but that doesn't seem to be the case).

EDIT: Deleted the whole "FCEUMM" folder. Hasn't changed anything, still stuck on that screen

What firmware version, and are you on the latest FCEUMM?

EDIT: I see what you mean... I'll try to fix it.

On another note, the black screen issue on resuming from the home menu has been fixed.

I seem to running into the same issue. I'm on 9.9 N3DS and using the latest build.

Alright, I was just helping and making sure you had the appropriate symptoms down so you could try to fix it. Love that a lot of these emulators support chipped music, at least I think it does looking at the source (NSF.c/.h).
One by one more emulators are popping up and I can slowly let my R4 die. :D

Maybe it means that the services that would be running on the same CPU core, slowing it down, now run on other cores?

That concept is rather questionable. That would suggest that the services are consuming 60% of CPU time. 10~15% maybe, but not half.

So, I should just STAY on the downloaded version I have as of right now, its not the latest, but it's good!
I also have a few recommendations!
Please add NES zapper support, like, a crosshair, and can be controlled with the analog stick thing.
Frame rate changer.
Game genie code input thing.
Button mapping changer.
Turbo support.
And last, famicom disc system support, maybe load a bios with it..?
Sorry if these aren't good. But I think it'd be cool with these!
Also, have a background changer, and load images to be the background! :D
