I have a US 2DS on sysnand 6.0/emunand 9.9 and a retail copy of Pokemon Alpha Sapphire EUR version. Gateway works well on my 2DS, the retail card also works on Gateway Classic Mode. However, every time I put the retail card in, the game update notice appears. After finish downloading the update, nothing changed, the update notice still there. I think it's because of the different region. I've tried installing an update .cia file of the game in EUR but it also doesn't work. Afaik it has something to do with the ticket, but yeah, this is a noob question thread anyway.
Any advice? Thanks in advance.
Hi.
It is possible to convert .3ds to .cia and cia to legit cia?
.cias don't need to be legit to work with Pasta. I'd recommend using rxTools (for O3DS) or reiNAND (for N3DS) instead of Pasta though.Damn*!
Zelda OOT is legit? Work with Pasta CFW?
bumpI have an EUR region 3ds and GW. If I play a region free USA game, can I install EUR dlc cia for it? Or USA? Or is it just not possible?
U need a game to update to 4.5hi im new to this i have an ace3ds plus and ive done the firmware on the micro sd and i get error and press power button to turn off,my current 3ds console firmware is 2.2.0-0E,do i need to update my 3ds console firmware to an higher one and if so to which one?,thanks for any help/advice in advance thanks
what is a nand type rom? I have been a while on the scene and never listened of this, maybe it's why nobody replies, and yes, your posts are visiblehmm can anyone help me? so i got the rom, and its NAND type rom... and i got sky3ds blue button, when i try to write it says its NAND type rom not eeprom... so the question is
-can sky3ds play nand type rom?
-if yes how, if no any method to make itplayable? thanks
Maybe you have to unlink the nands? You can do so by formatting emunand if im correct. Im not so sure if its like the case when cia's gets unwrapped every after boot which is solved by unlinking the nands. With that, in my case I have no problems though playing US OR online in a jap n3ds with US cia update installed.Bump.

I'll be perfectly honest: I am really nervous about trying to piece together the tutorials on this board.
I'm looking to replace my O3DS XL, as it is in pretty bad physical shape (circle pad gave way, dying hinge, cracks, etc). I'm planning on getting a new O3DS XL.
Here's the problem: I want my new system to have firmware 9.2 and that sweet browser exploit.
I DO have a Gateway, although I've never used it and I probably need to update it. (I haven't gotten around to getting the necessary sd cards, and the browser exploit did a good chunk of what I wanted, so yeah).
I DO NOT have Cubic Ninja. I have no plans to get it either.
From what I've read, I have two options:
1) Physically swap the motherboards. A pain in the ass and scary as sin, but no need to dick around with custom firmware shenanigans.
2) Use some kind of CFW, 3DNUS and sysupdater to get it up to 9.2, and use the eshop spoof method to do a legit system transfer from my old system to the new system. This might involve downgrading to 4.x? Maybe?
I'll be perfectly honest: I am really nervous about trying to piece together the tutorials on this board. I found a tutorial for using 3DNUS and systupdater... but that uses Pasta, which requires cubic NInja, which I do not have. I did read that it can be used with other CFW or maybe some Gateway thing, but then I also read about someone bricking their system that way. I then found some way of using a stripped down version of Pasta by downgrading to 4.x and installing an mset (what is that?) but I've heard weird things about that method as well.
Does anyone have any guidance for me while I continue researching my options? Is a hardware swap or a software swap going to be easier and/or safer?
You need cubic ninja or at least ocarina of time if you intend to use the n3ds with any cfw or gateway. You'll need to troll a couple stores and use the serial number thread to pick your n3ds with a viable firmware. Hurry up cause their mostly gone. The motherboard swap thing isn't going to work from an old to new 3ds(different motherboards). You can borrow or buy and then sell your cubic ninja/OOT after the first use as your can install the mset hack after the first use and never need to use it again. I kept mine because of ninjhax and the off chance I'll need to reinstall the mset hack again. N3DS typically come with 9.0+, You don't need to upgrade to 9.2, 4.x to 9.2 ALL work, so just keep your sysnand as is. Upgrade your emunand to 9.5 with 3dnus/FBI CIa installer. New 3ds doesn't have a browser exploit, believe it is only the o3ds(someone correct me if I'm wrong).
This was quite daunting to me at first. What I did was follow this: http://pastebin.com/WVszD3Tm
and, for anything I was unsure of, I used this one on the side as a sort-of double-check: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-installing-rxtools-custom-firmware-3ds-and-2ds.390867/
This won't answer most of your questions, but, if you get a <9.2 O3DS it'll lead you right. It took me about 4 hours of work and running to a few other tutorials, but, it was generally smooth with no worry about screwing everything up.
That guide is straightforward in every step except these:
1: fbi_inject.app and fbi_inject.tmd
Don't worry about putting these in until:
6c. Other Options -> Install FBI over Health&Safety App -> Install to emuNAND
And:
firmware.bin: USE THE BATCH SCRIPT AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PASTE,
I just found said file elsewhere with a google search.
I wish I could personally help out people who're starting fresh, but, if you take your time, triple check everything, and ask for guidance you'll be just fine. Good luck out there!
Personal experience: Opening and toying around with small handhelds and phones is quite simple and terribly easy to get right when following a video tutorial. Utilizing this, you may find yourself wanting to buy a couple of replacement parts and keep your Old O3DS.
Also, discovered this WAY too late into modding my 3DS: https://gbatemp.net/threads/guide-the-emunand-save-data-mega-guide-gbatemp-doesnt-deserve.378491/
