So the GW was working fine about an hour ago. Closed the DS to eat dinner. Came back and the 3ds had a black screen saying the cart has been removed.

No problem. Restart the system. Get to the GW menu, boot into emunand. All good. Then when I hit select, I get no game list, just "Filesystem error."

So I take the SD card out of the red card, put it back in, and restart. This time when I try to boot into emunand I get "No Gateway 3Ds Card Found."

Turn everything off and restart. Same thing. Remove red card, put it back in, restart. Same thing.

This happened 5 times. Then I took the red card out and went to drink a beer. Came back, put the card back in and it booted to emunand, but I got the "Filesystem error" again.

Took out the SD card of the red card and put it back in. Restarted and it's working fine.

So, is this the slow death of my red card? I bought it back in December 2013, so it's not brand new or anything.

try the format function in GW menu

Don't forget to delete System32 folder on your computer before you copy any files to the SD Card also, lol. /jk

Yea, I would stay far from format EMUNand as it will format the Internal SD card, and still leave the MicroSD not working right (untouched) , in the case of the OP.

Just reinforcing, cause who knows: don't do these things!! seriously! stay away from formatting emunand and do not delete your system32 folder.

I looked this problem up on google, and it told me to open a DOS box as Admin and type "Format C:\" So I'm trying that. LOL.

Seriously, is there any way to tell if the MSD card is dying other than to swap it out and see if the problem resurfaces? It works fine in my card reader.

I just bought another one and moved everything over. Everything is working just fine now, but it has been fine with the old MSD card since the stuff above, so I'm not sure that tells me anything.

Any chance it's a problem with the internal system SD card? I'm still using the one that came with the 3DS back in 2012. It also seems to work fine in the card reader. I figured it's fine because the system has no trouble booting to Gateway, but I did notice that the saves from the last 2 days seem to have magically disappeared as if they never happened. For example, I had gotten one save to World S1 in SM3DL yesterday morning, but now I'm on World 7 again like the last 2 days never happened.

Update. I have swapped between 2 different MicroSDs and both do the same thing every time. If I power the 3DS completely off, I get the "No Gateway 3DS card found" error every time I restart and boot to Gateway. Then I go back to the Gateway boot menu, remove the Red Card, remove the Micro SD, put the Micro SD back in, then put the Red Card back in and boot to Gateway mode again and everything works.

So I guess it's fine unless that stops working.
