Definitely not fully-bricked and doesn't sound semi-bricked. Do you have the stuff you need to reinstall the Ocarina exploit? If you do, try that and see if it will boot the GW menu after that.

First of all, thank you very much for taking your time to help me out. I saw some of the other people around here and they were being rather rude so I was a bit afraid of asking here. But you showed me otherwise. ^^

Secondly, I am happy to hear that it's not bricked (maybe) and...uh...should I start a new thread? Or should I PM you? Or should we just keep going here? Because I am not sure what the "stuff" you are refering to, is; and I am afraid of spamming this thread with all my questions. ^^

I have a Nintendo 3DS which can go into Gateway without problems and I have a New Nintendo DS which won't boot into Gateway what-so-ever. I am able to "Restore Savedata from SD Card" to 'inject' the Gateway exploit into the game, using the "Old Nintendo 3DS", so that I can use it in the "New Nintendo 3DS" to boot into Gateway Menu. Well, I used to be able to boot into the menu. ^^'

Any communication option is fine, this thread is for asking questions after all! For stuff, I just meant either a save dongle or a GW compatible 3DS to reinstall the exploit save on the Ocarina cart (which you have the O3DS so you're good to go). Try reinstalling the exploit save on the Ocarina cart with the O3DS and see if that makes a difference.

Thank you. I will just continue here.
I tried. I have tried many times. I have tried erasing the data from the game first, then re-injecting the save. I have tried. I have tried to copy the .SAV file and replace it with the same file existing .SAV on the SD card, just in case, and tried again. Over and over. I think I have tried 15 times.

Are you using the 3.2.2 GW launcher or the 3.3 one currently? I would give both of them a shot again again just in case it makes any sort of a difference. I'm guessing no, but do you have a copy of Cubic Ninja?

Yeah, I have tried both of them and no luck with either one of them. And I sadly don't have a copy of Cubic Ninja. I tried to get that instead of OoT but it was sold out everywhere, apparently.

Hello, I have two Old3ds's and a gateway card, they are using GW emunand. I'd like to stop using the GW, and start using CFW on both ds's, from where should I start? Does the gateway card can help me during any step during the process of CFW install? Which is the best setup (CFW) for the ds, I want to play CIAS and gba games. Is there anyway to boot cfw without internet (using settings, like GW)?

I'm not sure what to do then. Sorry I couldn't be more help, but I've never seen something exactly like this happen before. You might want to try making a thread about this and hopefully somebody with some knowledge on the issue will be able to help you.

rxTools is your best option. Since rxTools uses the same emuNAND as Gateway, anything you install in Gateway mode will appear in rxTools emuNAND, so it will be much easier to install either BigBlueMenu or DevMenu in Gateway mode. rxTools also supports the DS Profile exploit, so you can boot it without using the internet.

So I must be dumb but here goes

I have an O3DS on 8.1.0-10E firmware. I'm trying to downgrade it, but I can't seem to launch into the GW menu using the browser exploit.

Any help? :)

Clear cookies and cache first. Makes sure you have the latest launcher.dat from GW's website on the root of SD card

Sometimes the browser exploit just doesn't want to work. I can go 5 times with the thing crashing then the next 15 times in a row I have no problems.

Doesn't seem to work at all: I even went as far as to format the entire 3DS (It doesn't really have anything on it.)

It will just say an error has occurred everytime I try. Tried 4 different SD cards as well.

I feel like I'm missing something...

Hello everyone. Got a quick question.

I have interest in playing some old DS games on my 3DS. Is the only way to do this is to downgrade my 3DS from 9.2 to 4.5? I really don't want to do this because of a few reasons.
A while back I saw that there was a .cia I could install on my emunand to play DS games. Is that still around? I can't find anything about it, anywhere.

Would appreciate any answers, thanks.

Thanks for your help so far.

I am still facing some issues and still have some questions. Here we go:

I finally installed DS profile exploit on my old 3DS to launch rxTools 2.6.
sysNAND is 4.5.0-8e
emuNAND is RX3D 4.5.0-8e

I have not performed any FBI injection yet.

1. How do I safely update emuNAND to 9.9?
2. Do I have to install FBI in both emuNAND and sysNAND?
2. What is that Timewarp Browser and must I install it later?
3. Do I have to 'Format System Memory' to unlink sysNAND and emuNAND for the first emuNAND setup? If so, must I launch it in sysNAND or emuNAND?
4. The rxTools menu offers to launch rxMode in sysNAND, what for is that mode?

Hi all can you send me the link where i can download 3ds games like fire emblem and MH4 thank you :nds:
Linking to piracy and asking for a link is against forum rules, I'd recommend editing your post before a mod deletes it.

How is your 3DS's SD formatted? If it isn't already, try formatting your SD card as FAT32 and see if that makes a difference.

The only way to play DS roms on a 3DS is with a DS flashcart.

Thanks for your help so far.

1. While in emuNAND, go to system settings and verify that the version says RX3D before the version number (if RX3D is not there DO NOT proceed). If it's there, go to Other Settings and scroll right until you see the System Update option. Use that to update emuNAND.

2. No, only emuNAND, unless you want to install .cias on sysNAND as well.

3. It is a version of the 3DS browser that supports browser exploits. It is useful on 9.X firmwares. I don't see any real point in installing it, since to my knowledge, the browser exploits don't work in emuNAND anyway.

4. Yes. It doesn't matter if you do it in sysNAND or emuNAND, both will result in the NANDs being unlinked. Most people choose to format sysNAND. Be sure to remove your SD card from the system before formatting sysNAND!

5. That mode can be used to install .cias on sysNAND instead of emuNAND. For most people it will not have much use. Installing .cias on sysNAND is dangerous and should be avoided unless necessary.

if i flash a secureinfo_a and 9.9-J files from 3DSNUS, from a japanese console, it MOSTLY works without reformatting.. but I get a handful of quirks like going into friends or browser freezing when it tries to go back to the homescreen. Is there any way to fix this without reformatting?

particularly asking because this guts spider/browser exploits on Fates DLC..

I have a question regarding private headers. I have a japanese new 3ds and I bought the Japanese version of Xenoblade (great game by the way).
Can I use the Japanese version of Xenoblade with powersaves to get a private header?

Also if I use regionfour or the new ninjahax to play non japanese games with sky3ds on my 3DS, should I get a private header for that region? So for games in EU, use a private header from a EU game for example?

Thanks

Thanks tons, BobDoleOwndU!

More questions coming up:
1. What is the benefit of installing .cia´s on sysNAND? I presume that I never need that.
2. Should I perform 'Format System Memory' before or after updating emuNAND to 9.9?
3. rxTools/rxMode can run .cia binaries. Can it run .3ds binaries as well?
4. Not sure of this question is allowed, but can rxTools create (playable) backups of my original cartridges? For backup purposes only of course.

Thanks again :-)
