I think we would take care about that save game one day, when could have at least something to give to beta-testers :) It is not a big problem, I think.

DanielTaylorHagg, looks nice, just seems you better render subtitles in the video resx. As they are now have quality bigger than the video itself :) So look too 'alien'. And seems better less text size. Apart that all looks good!

Could this topic be moved to the hacking and homebrew forum? Seems like it fits better there with all the other translations - that is, if this is actually happening.

Is there something wrong with it being in the PSP forum? And yes, it's actually happening, unless this script in front of me is a massive trap by Atlus USA.

Oh, my bad, the PSP sub forum for it... yeah, that makes sense.

How about the traduko-soft project? Are they still on the run?

There's also Devil Summoner for the PSP that deserves a fan translation so badly

there was a devil summoner project, but the translation basically has to be scrapped since since it wasn't done from a text dump and there's way too much text to play the guessing game of what goes where, so they need a dedicated translator to redo everything from scratch.

You still believe him? :) Did you saw any video previews of P2 or screenshots from Traduko? :) I think he have nothing, maybe some translation for Tatsuya scenario somewhere (btw, we cooperated with people behind p2px-scenario.tumblr.com so we have this part covered as well).

Hey, quick question. How far this project has been going? Are half of the text already inserted to this game? I'm fine with any translation, just hoping that I can play this game on my psp after all of my hellish school work that happened during this month and next month finished.

Yeah, honestly I agree with you. Traduko projects sounds pretty fishy.

Unfortunately, I asked Tomtranslate (P2 Innocent Sin PS1) and he says he won't be of any help. There is a raw script of the game translated, but it still misses of a lot of parts.

You know what would be nice? If people stopped assuming if my project has nothing done or not because of what information I share, and when I decide to share information. Conception was assumed to be dead, and now it's back. My translation of Puella Magi Madoka Magica Portable was silent on info for a year when it was announced in 2013, and it wasn't until the spring season of 2014 for information to finally be revealed, and now two patches are releasing this year, with two test builds being released to testers, as well as a public patch released on August 12, 2014. I've also told you I'd gladly like to work with you, and am planning on doing so. Just because I don't share info on my projects all the time, does not mean they aren't in progress.

I have stated multiple times on my site that the project barely has any text files decrypted, which is my main problem. I've translated UI images, decompressed the gzip archives, and all of the basic things, as stated before. I'm not trying to sound rude. Sorry if it comes off as such, I'm just a tad bit stressed.

To put it shortly: Text has had issues being decompressed by me besides making a translation of the Tatsuya scenario, so I would like to team up with you to help you translate the text for the game. There is no lie, and there is nothing to believe or not to believe.

If anyone wants any assistance with translating this game, I'm ready to help at any time. My issues with this project has been decompressing the text files, so if anyone has, I'm willing to work with them full-time. Feel free to email me at [email protected], and I'll respond to you as soon as possible.

Once again, I do apologize if I sound rude at all. That's not my intention. I'm just highly stressed, and am doing my best with the time I have. I'd love to support this project, even if I am not the main person behind it. My goal is the same as everyone else's here: I want fans to play the remake of Persona 2: Eternal Punishment in English. I'm willing to join any team if it means reaching this goal for fans of the Persona series.

You asked him for what reason? For Devil Summoner? As we do not need any translations for P2EP by now (as seems Aya will cover things not translated later).

thexyz actually hacked it all already half a year ago... Even with proportional font :) http://bbq.xyz.is/Persona_2:_Batsu This why I told that there absolutely no problem to put the PSX translation there (apart legal issues).

from what he says, everything anyone could ever need to hack and translate the game is contained in this thread:
If you speaking about LBA - all is described by thexyz year ago on his wiki. Text format was described by GDW in this thread. All CPK could be easily extracted and repacked by existing tools on the net, I told that 2 pages ago.

Most textes in eboot (UI, Personas, battle text) was not worked out (as thexyz did not worked on them, and I am not that great hacker, i do not even know mips). Also did not yet applied dungeon textes (but these were worked out and could be applied from the PS1 later). By now applying location textes and doing tests. Also came into the problem related to the Tatsuya name, which could be transferred from previous game, so they use sort of placeholder in textes, which obv in japanese, this would be needed to be taken care of, to have at least correct english default name-family-name.

I would not be too optimistic about having this anytime soon. Editing is not a fast process, cj_iwakura is busy man, my other comrade seems now busy with other things, so would not give you any timelines at all. But something is moving on. Maybe will post later some screenshots for Tatsuya sceranio, will see.

Actually yes, this whole project started as a way to give some definitive way to reinsert scripts back into game (extractor is already done by thexyz), but later I thought that we already digged a lot into game, why not just do whole game ourselves. So actually tools and descriptions on thexyz site give all needed info to extract the scenario and location textes from the game and write a tool to reassemble them back after translation. I still cannot understand why Traduko cannot use that to extract and translate textes the way he want.

Devil summoner is another gem that no one seems interested to translate/hack. Not even Atlus USA

Have you got any project on that?
I am speaking about your comment on my post #268. Second part was related to Devil summoner, not persona. Seems you got it wrong. It was fully translated in text form just with a problem like tathra told. I believe text is still available in some threads in this forum.
