Pasta CFW is fairly new, it came out in the middle of this year. But now we have Rxtools, something even better than Gateway and Pasta CFW. It's totally free and the setup is exactly like gateway's. I'm keeping my Gateway anyways, since I like the convenience of using .3ds games instead of ALL cia games. Plus I'm excited for the new features Gateway has in-store.
There's other 4.5 games, such as Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. I think New Super Mario Bros 2 has 4.1 on it also.
Do I need to buy Gateway Ultra or Omega if I want to play newer games? I have the original one for my 3DS on 4.4, and the Gateway website now has no more software updates for it.
The Gateway cart is still the same cart they've always used. Omega and Ultra are just the names for their version 2 and version 3 software. Just download the latest Launcher from Gateway's website, set up the laucher on your SD, launch Gateway and your cart will be updated.
Yep, you can update your emuNAND since you're using an old 3DS. New 3DS's can only go up to 9.5 on emuNAND currently.
I have 3DSXL on version 9.2.0-20E. I don't have Gateway flashcard, but i want launch homebrew. To launch rx tools do i need only follow instructions on rxtools.net or i have to do something more? Is there any option that something goes wrong?

Hi guys, I'm needing your help.
I've got a SKY3DS and I'm getting some random freezes while I'm playing.
The curious that's only happened in Pokemon Omega Ruby so far. I've played other games for hours, like Zelda between words, majora's mask and Kingdom Hearts and I haven't noticed any freeze in these games.
The freezes are totally random. Sometimes it happens with half hour or 1, 2 hours. And this is pretty annoying because I can't chain in order to get a shiny Pokemon.
I've googled my issue and what I found was about SDCard or save game type, can someone confirm it?
I have a N3DS and the Blue Buttom SKY3DS. My micro SDCard is a Kingston 16GB Class 4. It works flawless however I'm getting this issue with Pokemon OR.

Finally i got a Castlevania game. It's a 4.4.0 version, but when i did the update didn't show the version either. I did a little research and found this thread:

I have already Palantine CFW in my dowgraded 4.5 3DS. Plus the Emunand is 4.5 too and i dont have Cubicninja.
With that i mind, I want to know:
1. With soo many options in new CFW - Pasta, Cakes, rxtools - what is the better choice to use in my case and with less risk of brick.
2. What of the new CFW can make my 3ds play 9.x backup games like smash bros ?
3. What CFW can make my 3ds play DS backup games ?
4. What is the real new CFW have the better performance or freeze less times when booting than palentine ?
5. What CFW can play cartidge without the save problem from palantine ?

Hi, I got a small problem regarding the emunand.
I have a o3DSXL on sysnand and emunand 4.2. I need to update to the latest emunand to do what I want to do. However updating the emunand via system update brings up a black screen when ever I load up it up with either Gateway or rxtools. Reformating the emunand back to 4.2 makes it work again. What am I missing or doing wrong? I do not have a flashcard or cubic ninja.

1. Rxtools is the best of the best right now, and it's still improving. It can already do EVERYTHING Gateway can, I highly recommend it. The setup is exactly like Gateway's. There's a little brick risk here, but ONLY if you're a noob (No offense)
2. Rxtools is the way to go
3. No CFW plays DS games, you need a DS flashcard such as the R4i Gold RTS.
4. Rxtools boots without freezing, I never encountered any freezes like it would with Palentine or Gateway.
5. Rxtools supports emunnad 9.8, you can also run cartridges from here too!

Hi, my old xl was on 4.5 and i installed CFW via mset exploit. I used devmenu to import the 9.2.0-20U cias i got from 3dnus. My ds is now bricked. If there is a method to unbrick it can somone tell me how, or help me find somone that can unbrick it. thanks
If I have a v4.5 and I use the browser exploit for my gateway, is there much of a reason to stay on 4.5?
Also, some games don't load for me and I have to redo do the exploit. Does this happen for newer games that I don't have the firmware for? For example, I have 4.5 and ssb doesn't load and I'm running gw 3.2.2. Is this caused by my 4.5 fw?
