Anything over the highest serial still listed as 9.2 is highly likely to be above that. Your best bet is to take the list of serials with you (either on phone or printed) and compare them in-store(s) till you find what you want. That or just go through ebay, with some diligence you should be able to pick up a confirmed N3ds on 9.2 or lower close to or below retail price. Don't be afraid to send the sellers a pm asking for the FW or even serial if you do decide to ebay hunt.

slightly but not really, if you want to use the HomebrewLoader just install a cubic ninja CIA to your sysnand and use Pasta CFW to load it and any other 3dsx files you want.

I understand that. When I exchange in store, I only see the already listed 9.4/9.5 serial or not-yet-listed but higher serial. So in other term, I am confirming not-yet-listed higher serial for this thread in case I can't find =<9.2 N3DS.

you want the lowest serial number you can find and go from there before it was not to difficult but now mod shops and ebayers are trying to buy them up since they are worth 100+ more.

@brangor Wait I advise you sell your zelda cart and buy cubic ninja it won't work like that because you would have no way to run pasta cfw without HBL in the first place since it does not run while in gateway mode.

So atm my options are

Cubic Ninja
OoT + 3DS Save Dongle

correct?

Since I own OoT already I might as well just buy the save dongle. Do you have any recommendations?

Try to get cubic ninja owning zelda will give you gateway access but then you wouldn't be able to run any homebrew + if someone gets CFW working on the New 3DS (people are almost finished we ust need Emunand) you could sell your gateway cart and keep using cubic ninja + CFW

Thanks for the advice man. But I think I am going to get a R4I dongle and call it a day. Too much of a hassle to resell OoT and potentially the Gateway in the future.

As long as I can get Gateway working to play ROMs I'm more than happy.

Just received my N3DS XL Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate special edition.
Serial QEH1021 and it comes with 9.2.0-20E

You have to take it out of the box and take off the faceplate on the top half. The serial number is under that faceplate. I'll upload a photo when I have non 2G data speeds if you need one.
