Can you rephrase that, I don't understand the question.
Okay, so I had my village full of villagers I moved in using your amazing tools in this thread. But then I stopped playing for a while and a villager moved out. What would be the best way of getting him to move back in? (Sorry, my game is all in Japanese so it's hard to tell what they're saying ..)

Even with these saves, there's no way to save a villager that moved out. Once a villager moves, they will be in your void and you'll have to cycle out 16 villagers until they'll move back in. The best thing to do is give the villager out when they're moving, so that you can just re-adopt that villager again. The game won't let you adopt the same villager twice if they're in your void. Basically the villager is still inside your game, you'll see them wandering your stores street sometimes.

There is one thing you can do to truly edit villagers: Use the ACNL Ram Editor, which requires a 9.2 3DS. You can instantly change what villagers live in your town, and where they live.

Sorry for the bump, but could anybody help me get a few villagers? Unfortunately I don't have a second 3DS and my town is very new so I don't have millions if bells to pay to other users on Reddit.

Hi, Do you convert these save for EUR version?
Thanks
There's absolutely no reason to have this on the EUR version. These saves were meant to help others, not to help yourself. The only way to really give yourself things is to have two 3DS.
All you need is the USA rom, and you can help everyone. Mostly everything has region free now adays, I'm sure you can use the USA rom.
To convert these saves to EUR would take an unbelievably amount of time, you're best off using the USA rom.

1. These saves don't work with the eshop/.cia version of the game, it won't let you import saves

2. These saves are for Gateway/Rxtools users, not Sky3DS. You can't use SaveDataFiler with Sky3DS.

1) i new that :)
2) why no sky3ds ? i use sky3ds and with ANCL EURO save backup/write without any problem ...

i just try again with gateway and us rom and i got corrupted data

then i re re READ your tuto, and i realise you say press A to import save
but ussually for my euro game for exemple i use L+A to import to CRT card (original game or sky or GW)

im not a pro but could you explain me the difference vs A and L+A

thanks at last your save work now and i will enjoy it ... great job ..

Thanks to Kirbs, we now have a way to import these saves to the cia version of the game, check out his post here: http://gbatemp.net/threads/cant-import-save-to-cia.392191/#post-5561579

original post that all come from, i learn a lots :)

Regardless whether you play the game in sysnand or emunand, here are the steps for CIA version of ACNL where by default it has the anti save restore feature:

1. Just create a new town and play it until you can save in that CIA version of ACNL
2. Use savedatafiler to backup the save-game of this new town, then open this new town garden.dat file and copy/write down the first eight bytes content
3. Open the old town garden.dat file that you want to use and overwrite the first eight bytes content with those from the new town
4. Restore back the save-game of that old town using savedatafiler to the CIA version of ACNL
5. Profit

These steps should work for either old or new 3DS.

Just a side note, we could also disable the anti save restore feature by using the debugger of NTR CFW DEX release (the one with break-point and watch-point capability only for the new 3DS). Here are the steps for the US version of the ACNL game after you get that error message:
1. Make sure the wifi is on
2. Start the game and debugger (by pressing button left-arrow while the game starts)
3. The game will pause at entry point then you need to connect the ntrclient PC application to the 3DS by issuing the following command in the ntrclient:
connect('XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX', 5000 + 0xYY)
where XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX is your 3DS IP address and YY is the process ID for the running game (you could find this ID by pressing X and Y buttons together to get the NTR menu at the 3DS bottom screen and check the list of processes, typically the running game process ID would be at the second from the end of the list)
4. Once ntrclient is connected to the running game, run the following commands:
write(0x0043f414, (0x01, 0x10, 0x21, 0xE0), pid=0xYY)
write(0x0043f418, (0x00, 0x00, 0x20, 0xE0), pid=0xYY)
Again YY is the process ID. Basically these two commands replace the following codes that check the secure value (those eight bytes) in the garden.dat with the one stored in NAND:
0043f414: E0 21 10 05 eor r1, r1, r5
0043f418: E0 00 20 06 eor r0, r0, r6
with the following codes:
0043f414: E0 21 10 01 eor r1, r1, r1
0043f418: E0 20 00 00 eor r0, r0, r0
5. Then run command continueprocess() in ntrclient to continue the game, and you will not see the error message anymore, and you will see your town in the background so you could start playing
6. Profit

Another way is to use the restore secure value feature in the savedatafiler. But you need to have this secure value file first for your old town (I know the format in case you want to try). The version of savedatafiler that I use currently is not able to backup secure value file properly in the new 3DS (missing the last 16 bytes), and this is one of the reasons I develop or use the processes above.

Hope this helps.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

and if you just install the cia game, and inject one of your save it will work straight, but after you save then the eight bit will change on nand so you cant import new save easilly
without editing them or import rigth secure data

next time, the best way is when you made you acnl save, then copy the secure data along with the save
then whe can import your save + secure data without any pain :) on any game type,

anyway thank you for your great work ... really appreciate :)

I'm confused with what the entire point of this thread is for.

Why would you go through the process of offering your save files which already has the original user's villager on it? Why not just use marc's ram editor instead so you're not bound to using somebody elses player and practically having to start anew with somebody elses game?

1. It's the same as cycling villagers in a separate copy of the game with a crap character, which is what legit people do. Nobody cares about the character, they know it's you giving them the villager.

2. It takes longer to use the ram editor and is more of a hassle. It's easier to load up the save with JK Save Manager, and have it instantly ready.

I mostly made this for myself, but I decided to share these saves with the community. They used to be in SavDataFiler format but I converted a bunch of them. They were useless for cia users, but now they work perfect.
If my friend were to ask me for a villager and I had to use the editor to make it happen each time, I would blow my brains out. With this I can give out villagers on the fly, no computer needed. Everything is done from the 3DS.

Thanks for bumping the thread.
