Hmm, how can you not have enough space for creating emunand, doesn't it format the SD card? Not unless you're using a TINY SD card.

Did NOT know about the risk of formatting sysnand through 4.5 MSET, so glad I didn't! This kind of waring should be a severe one, it's pretty easy to do this without knowing.

Awwww crap I put the 4.5 MSET on my 9.2 sysNAND with rxtools by accident and now I'm kinda worried (Not that I'm gonna update or downgrade it). I still have my original 9.2 NAND backup but if I restore it through gateway will it break my emuNAND as well?

Yeah, that bricking by injecting 4.5mset in a 9.2 firmware then system formatting is news to me as well, any idea on why it happens?

Seconded, I heard it was a problem with mset downgraded on the 2DS because at one point in the process, the initial setup will ask you to turn up the 3D slider. Which the 2DS doesn't have, so you get stuck. Not sure if that guy ever got around that issue.
I've never heard of anything like that on the n3DS though.

I'll PM you later for some help if I need it, since a lot of people hardmod XLs instead, so it'd be good to have some pointers for the Old 3DS :)
Thanks, but I've already hardmodded it, and it works like a charm now thanks to the help of GBATemp members and their wonderful tips and advice. :)

Psi-hate I posted some pictures earlier, yo actually can make a temporary harmod without solder, but is risky, I took my own risk :P, and it worked.

I'm honestly surprised that so many people are doing very risky things to their 3DSes. :O

9.2 n3DS+Cubic Ninja+Gateway card+emuNAND 9.5 has never steered me wrong and I honestly can't think of a single thing that I want that I can't do.

Temporary NandMod? I'd like to know how just in case my solderer is not up for the task. :P

Yeah, sorry for not replying, totally forgot to :P.

Well at the start, I only stickied the wires with very thin pieces of tape, and atached them to the little metal claws that are inside the SD adapter, then connected to a USB adapter and voilá, Blue screen of Death showing bootrom error, conected to my PC and teh disk was detected. Made Win32DiskImager to write my NAND copy and my 3DS revived :D.

The wires connect to the pinouts just fine?

Yes, you just need some kind of needle (preferably soft to avoid damage to the MoBo) to atach the adhesive tape firmly, and try to avoid pulling the wires to much. Before connecting to the USB adapter, make sure the wires are on place, just to avoid unrecognized NAND on the PC or something, because that is frustrating and you'll need to reopen your 3DS.

Once you're done, you can detach all the wires and your 3DS will still remain untouched :yaynds:, as you can see on my photos, (sorry for the poor quality BTW).

my 1st brick was due to injecting a ticket.db on sysnand using rxtools, but I was still a noob and I didn't know I don't have one dump yet

2nd brick was I used a 9.0 emunand and restore it to sysnand using gateway launcher

both was revived by a hard mod

Well your first time wasn't your fault I guess, it was some kind of bug present in a certain version of RX, dumping a 0KB ticket, obviously injecting that on sysnand causes brick.

Second one is due to a NAND updated when modified memory patches were present.
