The problem isn't about resetting the exploit, the problem is switching between the different FIRMs, Think of it like a paradox.
You don't have to reinstall everything... you just have to launch the MSET installer .nds again and everything will be in working order.

Is it just me, or is the 2.6 package on rxtools.net giving a weird broken version of 2.5? Chrome's giving me a 'harmful file' warning when I try to download it too... the package on github is fine though.

Re-download the latest release and also download the firmware.bin from the given script. Copy the downloaded firmware.bin and the .dat file to your SD card and everything should be fine.
I re-downloaded everything from Github, installed it, but it didn't work. Still the same error and it shows the "Installation Data Suite" everytime I boot.
Yeah, the developper himself said so, the archive on rxtools.net is corrupted or something. download it from github instead.

Can you still boot the rxMode after the installation suite is done installing, or do you get a black screen ?
at first I had the black screen problem, I had to reformat my SD card and go through the process of formatting emunand through the gateway launcher again, after that I reinstalled rxtools and it worked for me.
I hope this helps.
No Emunand boots properly after "Installation Data Suite". The thing is that i get that procces everytime i boot.
Yes, i have got 0004013800000002.bin, 0004013800000102.bin and data.bin in that folder.
