Honestly I really don't know why that many people are complaining now! NWPlayer 123 wrote this:

Things weren't looking good for E3 but now it seems possible again (if everything goes well)

So they have got another webkit exploit on 5.3.2 which is nearly finished. Hykem only said that it was tricky to exploit their original exploit, but who say's there is only one??

Now the good news, I finally managed to run code on firmware 3.0.1. It required combining the previous user-after-free as planned and a totally different exploit (CVE-2012-3683). The results are not optimal, but it works.
I finally managed to figure out where the coreinit library is located in memory with some brute-forcing and got execution to jump into OSFatal.

I apologize for the delay, but development will, hopefully, speed up now.

And hykem has got something working with IOSU on 3.0.1 at least and is confident that things are speeding up a bit now.
That sounds great to me! And the IOSU isn't essential for homebrew anyway, so with the Kernel Exploit and the new Webkit exploit we could see some homebrew relatively soon and enjoy that while hykem is working on porting the IOSU exploit to 5.3.2.

So I'd say stop complaining, play some WiiU games while waiting or enjoy homebrew on vwii and give the people the time they need because the are all doing fantastic work and without them we wouldn't be near any exploit at all!

guys hacking isnt an exact science and why would you guys even want the webkit exploit so ready for e3? without developed homebrew the exploit is just an exploit you wont be able to do much with it, just chill out.

NWP and MN1, don't sweat the haters. Take your time and release your work when you're ready to. Some of these people act like their Wii U is useless until homebrew comes. Seriously? There are great games on the Wii U. I love playing my Wii U online as well. Sure, I'm as excited as the next guy for the potential for homebrew (DS emulator is my most desired considering the Wii U has two screens!), but I'm in no rush and no one else should be either.

gbatemp loves saying to ignore haters.

What I see is people asking questions and being confused. And people who bought a Wii U for homebrew only it seems.

Stop calling everyone who asks something a hater for monkey sake. xox

It'll be ready when it's ready. Take the time until then to do something productive if you already aren't, like perhaps helping me with BFSAR research. :P

No he shouldn't, he's that close to finally exploiting the currently latest firmware fully. Many people depend on the outcome. Ignore the haters and keep going man :yaywii:

I'm pretty sure he was commenting on the 'joke' (if you can call it that) Marionumber1 made about page 314, and Pi. We still love ya anyway, MN1, keep up the good work :)

P.S. Not to derail the topic, but while we're waiting, still 6 days left on the Humble Bundle for a bunch of indie WiiU/3DS eShop games, 7 of which are for the Wii U, could help bide the time while waiting for the current webkit exploit. In any event, take a look, it's pretty neat.

Because of a few haters

NWPlayer says to update to the latest firmware because everything's fine.
Now Hykem comes in and says that the bug for the latest firmware is harder than expected to exploit. So everything isn't "fine"? So it wasn't OK to "update to the latest firmware"?

Thus, being pissed at being lied to =/= hating.

i would just let them crack on with what they are doing. they are only gonna get pissy with you for being honest about the situation!!! just note to yourself DO NOT do the next update regardless of what others say untill there is an actuall release of an exploit

I'd steer clear of accusing people of lying as if deceit were involved. I updated from 3.0.1 a a few days ago (partly to use the Humble Bundle), but I'm not sore about it. As has been stated 100,000x times in this thread before, a kernel exploit and/or a webkit exploit are a lot less useful by themselves as opposed to in conjunction with each other, so I don't mind being patient until they can get them sorted out together.

its not about lier's or deceit its about the fact it was a missleading guess. maybe it was reasonable to ashume such things were safe but it was claimed to have been a FACT. nobody is saying that nwplayer or anybody else has intentionally said the wrong things or been missleading on purpose (or i havnt anyway). does nobody believe in constructive criticism and or opinions anymore? just because people that arnt devs have spoken there voice does not mean to say they are much less knowledgeable!!

I don't believe you'll find any of us claiming an estimate as a fact. Please show evidence of that or stop talking about how we gave you misleading facts.
