Has anyone heard of this or been affected by it recently? This morning i received something like this when browsing the internet, and at first i though it was a error. It turns out some copyright infringement was accusing me of doing something even though it wasn't downloading anything. This isn't anything new since it was created in 2013 sometime, and ive been downloading things alot since then with no problems till now. I was thinking it was some certain file i downloaded, but then just a few days ago i uploaded a few movies to mega upload which falls in line with the 3 strikes i was just issued by Verizon. Either that or it was some files from a porn site :). Anyone know how to get around this? blocking or ip perhaps or something similar.

Either:
a.) Try to be more discreet about what you are pirating, try to use small, private sites as much as possible
b.) Use a VPN service, which will cost you $50 or more a year
c.) Don't pirate ;)

Pro tip - don't upload.

You'll get strikes, c&ds fit downloading sometimes, but you can get in MAJOR shit for uploading.

It depends. If you stick to uploading to private torrent sites only, the ISP has no idea. They only look for sites like KAT and Pirate Bay (and possibly sites like 4shared and mega).

I have Verizon but it has never done that to me as I only use my wifi.
As for vpns some are free but try to pay if you can
Also why are you just getting in trouble when it happened 2 years ago?
Also mega upload? The website that was closed or do you mean mega the cloud box thing?

Have fios and never got a warning and I dl alot of stuff.
I tend to stay away from movie dl's though, and never upload anything, they are the ones that usually get caught.

I have Fios, and haven't gotten a strike since March, and oddly enough, two of the 3 strikes regarded Tom Cruise movies: Oblivion and Jack Reacher. The one was Hobbit 3, but that wasn't me, someone else downloaded that. I was concerned because I mostly download from torrents, and KAT especially, but after a week or so, I stopped worrying. Haven't gotten any notice since.

safest option if your not using a VPN is getting into a private tracker IPT, it's far harder for companies to track you on those since they have to maintain a strict ratio.
