I was about to ask this same question as well haha. I'm debating if I should update my PSTV to 3.36 or wait at 3.18 hoping for a native vita exploit.
At least with 3.36, it will be possible to use online features again thanks to Vita Update blocker and Vita games requiring a newer FW would work.

Vita update blocker will only permit you PSN access for around 1 week after the latest patch is released if you are on the previous firmware to what has been pushed.
The new exploit is vhbl only and not a full hack, so no tn x ps1 Loader, no epsp etc... Just the ability to play a few emulators. Stay on 3.18... There is nothing it can't do which is out in public release.
^Not true actually, the new exploit is a kernel exploit. There's no compatible TN-V version, but ARK2 works perfectly fine as a replacement.
The issue would be the lack of a compatible version of TN-X PS1 Loader (this will require a new exploit game and Total_Noob feeling like releasing a new version) and the fact that the vitasploit stuff is only compatible up to 3.20. I have my doubts that a Vita native exploit will ever be publically released, it's the lack of TN-X support that will probably keep me on 3.18 for the forseeable future.
Really, the only reason I'm considering updating is because I want to play Phantasy Star Nova which may or may not require 3.30 (nobody seems to know).

I'm not sure why you're saying that. I agree that it probably won't get TN-X because Total_Noob probably won't release it, but the exploit already has a ePSP CFW in the form of ARK2.
I do recommend to stay on 3.18, though (for TN-X and vitasploit).

Tn has said his ecfw and tn x will never get released for anything over 3.18. ARK isn't all that great.
I agree that ARK2 isn't as good as TN-V but it's a perfectly servicable kernel mode CFW for people who really want to update to 3.36+ for whatever reason (though I don't recommend it).
Total_Noob did suggest (in a discussion over at Wololo) that he might release a newer version of TN-X later in the year that works on 3.30+ and has new features like alphabetical sorting. This was before all the drama with The_Zett though, I doubt Total_Noob will release anything anymore. For now, assume that TN-X will remain 3.18-only.

Looks like the new exploit is going to release soon, I heard that some people where able to view the ninja release over at Wololo.

I'm getting a borderlands 2 vita bundle next week and I assume its under 3.20 firmware.
Whats the best exploit games for it in terms of size and speed thats still in the us store?

As of now, I'm recommending patapon 1. Its quick, small and supports both ark and tn-v.
Although if you want to wait a wait bit, I'll say wait until patapon 2 gets its ass back onto the store.
Since that game supports both 3.20 and 3.36 in case you want to update FW later.
Yeah I was thinking of getting patapon or talkmantravel:tokyo if the firmware is less than 3.20
Shoot patapon 2 would have been perfect since I'm seeing reports the bundle comes in either 3.01,3.18,3.30 firmware.
Maybe I should grab world of pool before it gets removed but not sure if it's useful for me since the chart says 3.50 and below with ecfw and no bubbles.
I think the best bet is to wait for patapon 2 to return.
Sony doesn't actually patch the games, they just remove it from the shop for a few weeks and release a new FW.
You could get world of pool but as you stated above, it does have some limitations.
So this guide is to upgrade to 3.18..... but what if i already have 3.18? Its coming in the mail next week.
