was thinking more of an all round multimedia player (play disc/usb music/films/pictures and connect to some online streaming sites) very simular to what wmcplayer is like

Same here ^_^ If worst comes to worst, though, I would definitely rather be able to play Blu-rays from disk than DVD-rips from USB (Shhhhhh it's an opinion, don't whine, "software liberators")

I have 2 nice ideas:
Well, system related applications can run beside the game (like the webbrowser after pressing the home button).
So I thought about a system related channel where you can paste cheat codes from clipboard you have found around the www through the webbrowser to apply them.
If you just want to use cheats you won't need to have the Wii U connected to your computer or set up a cheat table saved on your SD. Just start the game, open the webbrowser, copy the cheat, open cheat manager app, paste the cheat there and have fun.

The other idea is a system related channel again that allows us to perform RAM searches (as like as we know it from N64's Gameshark Pro).
The huge advantage compared with (tcp) Gecko dNet would be that dumping the RAM would not be needed. So searches would be very very quickly performed.

So, a realtime cheat engine accessible :D

You can't do 1080p in a virtual machine, emulation would be the only way but emulation has far less compatibility compared to virtualization; you might as well just run Dolphin at that point. Nintendont is perfectly fine the way it is. Dolphin has 80% compatibility (as in all the way through), if that, Nintendont has 99.999% or so, with a couple of games running too fast, you do the math. A VM vs a buggy-as-hell emulator with nearly 20% less compatibility. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Nintendont, so, porting it to Wii U mode would be pointless and a waste of code; there are better things to be ported over to the Wii U.

Ugh... why would emulation be the only way? You do realise you can selectively virtualise different aspects of the target system. Yes it's not easy, yes it requires someone with the effort and knowhow to put some time into it. But yes it should be possibly to hook into the GX graphics calls and pass them to a GX2 wrapper with options of rendering them in any supported resolution.

If anything this is easier in virtualisation than emulatation as at this stage we already have high compatibility virtualisation thanks to the hark work of everyone that's worked on Nintendont.

And sure, no one wants broken compatibility, but any upgrades to graphics fidelity could be optional, with old builds being available or maybe a separate fork of Nintendont.

maybe im asking for an imposible thing, but a CFG or whatever to make the gamepad's battery last more would be great. For example, in MK8, if you play with the TV on you dont need the gamepad, so like a button shortcut to turn it off

Then by all means, if it's so simple to do, go ahead and implement the necessary code to do it so I can stop spreading such seemingly baseless lies on how it can't be done in a VM. I'll be waiting. Or better yet, I can just shut my mouth about it altogether and not voice my opinions and "knowledge" on how higher resolution can be done on Nintendont.

I'd much rather just use Dolphin on my PC, but that's just me.

You know what should be done on both Wii U and mobile devices?

A GBATemp client. An app with the specific purpose of browsing the forum, with a nice GUI optimized for the device it's on

Edit: Also, for the maze ball game thing, the specific toy is called a "Perplexus", if you want to call it something easily "search-able"

I was thinking the same thing!

GBATemp loads fine for me on my Wii U and iPad 3, but it is incredibly slow on my old 3DS unless I edit the URL to use Google's mobile formatting option (which does not display the pages correctly).

I was mainly hoping for a 3DS GBATemp app designed like the Miiverse applet, but with SpotPass notifications for incoming alerts, the ability to download and install files such as homebrew to the SD card, and possibly the ability to use extra RAM and processing power (like Super Smash Bros. or Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate) to make the pages load faster. However, GBATemp Wii U and mobile apps would be excellent too!

Also along this line, Skype, Twitter, Facebook and MAYBE tumblr clients would be nice, as well

Mainly Skype, though, it's the one that would benefit most from the Wii U's hardware, since Wii U chat kind of... well... you know...

That's such a good idea that I wouldn't be surprised if an official Skype app is released on the eShop sometime soon!
