Sorry but, may I ask 2 questions?

what's your estimate (rough estimate) on when you'll finish the patch sir?


As I said earlier, I'm still wating for Aent's input on the matter, as they are the one in charge of all the hacking.

Taking the graphics part into account, it will be quite a while, as there has not been any progress in that front, except the portraits made by an user who's no longer here.

I got two questions, Pablitox. first one... How can i help with proof reading? Second one... How would one go about learning how to do rom hacking stuff?

2) Well you an certainly start looking for tutorials and first steps in romhackng.net, there are a lot of users here with good knowledge, so don't hesitate to ask for help!

Anyway, that's kinda the idea, I'm sure most of the users must be prettyanxious with the project and to be honest, I want to play it too. I sent a message to Aent to see if they'll start again with the project, we depend on them so they have the last word on it.

Don't worry, I'm sure they will pick up in December (holidays!!)

What graphics did you already modify in Summon Night Hajimari no Ishi?
Besides the names, that is. Did you figure out the compression format?
Only thing uncompressed are some minor stuff ("Guard") that are trivial to modify, but not much.

TBH we left the graphics part mostly untouched, and if I remember correctly, the past leader of this project, Oil_ did that guard translation, but I don't know how. There was an user here who wanted to do the graphics part, I don't know if they will start with that or not.

I got from a past helper of this project a good bunch of translated graphics, like the character's name portrait,

and I wanna play it already :) i love the summon night :)

Hope you have some still left, 'cause it does not look Aent will be replying soon, gotta be busy.

I hope they have made some progress, this project has gotta end...

in any case, seems pretty normal for work to stall around this time of the year we shouldn't be surprised i think.

Here's something for the graphics.
UPS to be applied on the JP untouched rom, though since it only affects graphics it should be possible to use in conjunction with the other already online patches if they didn't move graphics around.

For now there are minor problems.
Title screen, third and fourth options: I messed up inserting one of the four frames for "2P" ("tsushin/link" option, the graphic probably needs to be redone) and didn't touch omake "bonus".
For those two I'll need to use the no$gba debugger to move the sprites anyways removing the gaps for a proper translation.
Two "ok/cancel" ones not done yet because I'm a lazy bastard.
Opening lines not fixed yet to use the proper translation ("a land called paradise"). This should be possible (called "a paradise land" once). The wording is awkward because of tiles repeating and imposing draconian limitations on the thing, but it should be possible if the tilemap is modified.
The glow effect doesn't match the crude shitty new English logo. It needs heavy tile map reworking.
Some NPC name translations needing proofreading to sound less awkward/more correct. They're based on non-proofread translations by others.

None of the compressed graphics were done, aka:
Select Hero
Select Partner
"Tsushin" (Link) in-menu graphic
"Omake" (Extras) in-menu graphic
Similar in-menu graphics in Engrish that may need fixing
Fishing tutorial (Lumberjack one isn't compressed, and already done)
Names in Credits
I have no way to modify these for now. For what it matters it doesn't seem the LZ77Restructor tool found something compressed normally.

That said, a main character sprite hack should be possible.

Thanks for mz, Almagest and FAST for helping with kanji identification for a handful of graphical NPC names.
TsubasaShaoranExel and Leaf, as well as the previous translators, for names.

Other files from Summon Night also included (a bitch to fit in the available space). Both the packed file, and the tile graphic data if you want to experiment.
Didn't correct Lipre' s name yet. Thanks to all involved.

Could you find the hex address for the 4 partners descriptions? Cause I asked parakarry and they told me the addrees, if you want I will post them here, also enzi's cancel box is stored somewhere else? Have alsothat address too, weird.

I was thinking on using NLZ-GBA Advance to search for compressed images.
