Darn. Installed the update for Daigasso hoping I could local multiplayer with my Japanese 3DS afterwards. Doesn't find the local game from my Japanese 3DS, and when trying to create one itself, I get an error. Oh well.. :<

yeah that is a problem with running games region free. try running a different region of mario kart and trying to play local, i'm pretty sure it doesn't work.
but nsmb 2 has no problem like that. it's game by game basic you need to test.

i'm pretty sure you will be fine playing online together though.

(this has nothing to do with the update)

Is there any plans to cover EUR and USA updates? Things with language issues like Tomodachi Life (Not released in spanish/french/portugese in USA region) or games not released in EUR region could benefit from it.

if i had a 3ds from every region i could get you the korean updates too i guess. but i don't :)
someone has already done the eur updates.
if you have a usa 3ds on gw you can do them

Well, I can already play online just fine with the version I already own! xD My hope was that I could use my Gateway 3DS to have other local people play with me since download play is locked. x_x

Do you know of any current method to convert eshop games such as metroid 2 gbc or mega man nes to .cia? I tried but I keep getting errors.
i have only converted 1 eshop game to cia, but yes i needed to specify the save size in an rsf file (it can be found in the tmd)

hmm, i have not used anyone's 'pack' etc, i just used the tools plain and simple (like makerom, ctrtool, etc)
get the usable, XORd tmd for the game you want, run it through ctrtool, it should tell you the save size.
or, you can look at the size of the .sav in the /data folder for your game on the sd card, and work it out from that

then make an text file containing this: (two spaces before savedatasize, maybe it doesn't matter...)
SystemControlInfo:
SaveDataSize: 128K

use that file as the rsf file when you bulid the cia.
if it still doesn't work, then you need something more specified in the rsf (for somethings i needed 'stacksize' - i do not think this can be found in the rsf, it can only be found by decrypting the XORd files with ncch decrypter on the 3ds - i think)

I am a noob and have no idea what you said. But I will definitely give this a try as long as you direct me to the correct tools to use? I really appreciate the response, thanks!

Is there any chance you could make a guide on how to repack updates? I am trying to repack my 1.0.4 US update for smash, but what I build doesn't do anything on BigBlueMenu installation.

I tried to import the .cia for Taiko no Tatsujin (0004000000102F00) and it came up with this
