Yoshi Island is a SuperFX2 game so I'd be surprised if it ever works at a playable speed.

Better to buy a DSTwo card and use the TempGBA emulator to play the GBA version of Yoshi Island at full speed.

And if you read one of my posts that followed that post, you'd find out that the issue has been fixed already :P

I wasn't talking of this particular bug. I was just giving the idea the game might not work yet as on a real snes (it's a game that need a really good emulation to work correctly, without those problems, and as blarsnes is still pretty new). But nothing prevent him to play it, of course ;)

By the way, can you answer about the sound suppositions I was talking about, as it's seems still unclear what do we need to run sound. Gateway? (.3ds? .cia?) Homebrew launcher? Something else?

Thanks!

Gateway .3ds dosen't have sound support, due to a (missing?) system privilege.
Both .3dsx (ninjhax) and .cia (cfw) builds have sound working with latest unofficial build.

Just a little addition ^
You can get sound on Gateway by using the .cia, or by using the .3dsx through ninjhax.

The framerate for this emulator is suprisingly smooth. Played Megaman X and Street Fighter 2 turbo (turbo froze once). Although I didn't realize I got an unofficial version (I was a bit confused when everyone was saying they had no sound).

The 3ds scene looks so promising. I wish people wouldn't be so greedy so that more people can join in on the home brew (and more folks that develop homebrew as well).

Kudos to staple utter for your work. I will be sure to make sure the next build I get is official lol

But StapleButter said he use a gateway for his developpements and he said he managed to got sound before the release of ninjhax or cfw (or cia on gateway), that's why I'm asking to be sure once for all, to know if we need to use the other trick (ninjhax can be used with a gateway, even if it's not really useful for now).

And yeah, the CSND seems to have been activated on Gateway Launcher 2.6.

I think it's better to wait for an official answer from him, to be 100% sure ;)

.cia file is also fine for gateway users and I think it already have sound, from what I read (the developper seems to had sound with a gateway before the exploit/homebrew launcher was released, but I'll let him confirm that or not himself).

Gateway recently unlocked all the services (like CSND) from what I read on their own website, along with the release of cia files.

Edit : Found his message about the sound : https://gbatemp.net/threads/blargsnes-snes-emulator-for-the-3ds-wip.369900/page-29#post-5144587

November 3, far before the homebrew launcher/exploit, and as he said later it would do a cia if it's not a pain to build, it seems to mean that his actually always working with a .3ds build (he said before the emulator was tested with a gateway).

If he was using a pre-released version of the homebrew launcher for the last builds, I think he would have said it (that you would need the homebrew exploit to get sound).

It seem he even managed to get the sound working before the gateway last update (2.6) which unlocked much services, as the gateway update got release on November 5, so two days after his message.

But that's just a lot of suppositions from what I read, can't be sure before actual confirmation, of course ;)
Where can I get the .cia file? I looked everywhere but couldn't find one.

Or be an ambassador and have the GBA VC version of Yoshi Island. Still I really would love for the actual SNES version to work through blargsnes especially considering how much better the Snes controls are over the GBA controls.

Not to mention the GBA version has inferior audio quality (11 KHz last I checked).
