But for PBOOT.BIN you need a real psp, it uses a different encryption key then eboot, but after decrypting it's a normal eboot.

There isn't any way to encrypt it? Ow man, that's bad

But i read, that ppsspp can run iso_tools, and people have patched their games with it!!

The web page just said this:

Access Denied

You don't have permission to access "http://a0.ww.np.dl.playstation.net/tpl/np/NPJH50701/NPJH50701-ver.xml" on this server.
Reference #18.dda762be.1414806797.3cea0a

i need that patch! Please someone upload it :cry:

I Know there is a way to decrypt it and i will find it ;).

 yaaaayyy :) The patch is on the way??

Yes, at least exorcizamus patch is going to be out really soon :)

This is confusing unless you read the whole thing.
I think this thread should be used only for StorMyu & co. project and the rest make their own threads and put their stuff in there.
And if this project is over (that's what i read here after Hollow Fragment announcement) then close it.
Just saying.
Nobody is gonna read 60 pages to figure what the hell is going on.

I asked Cyan, and he told me that we must use this forum post.
Not our fault, we asked first ;)

Problems have appeared !

Can't decrypt PBOOT.PBP, used anything i found, and still it can't be decrypted

- you need a real psp + PSPCipher to decrypt PBOOT.PBP

I used the windows version of PSPCipher and it can't decrypt it either .

There isn't another way to decrypt that file, or we should be content with version 1.0?

That PBOOT isn't encrypted... Buuut, the EBOOT inside it is and needs to be decrypted by a real PSP.

nooo  That's what i fear:cry:

well... if anyone know another way other than share the decrypted eboot please tell us

--------------------------------------------

Bad news about exorcizamus's patch:

I decrypted EBOOT.BIN+INSTALL.DAT from a clean ISO, and tried to patch it with exorcizamus's ISO, and I still got 500+ MB file.

This could be from two things (The game still works wonders... that's the strange):
1) I packed/unpacked exorcizamus's ISO too many times trying things and the file got changed (like encoding and such)
2) exorcizamus's INSTALL.DAT was decrypted using a different method.
3) Something I don't know

Please someone, enlightment me.

If this continues like that, I am going to start from a fresh copy and do the translation myself.

Install.dat is a CPK file, there are like 1000 different versions of this format (every game that uses this format, uses a different packer.dll).
But there is only 1 public repacking tool, which is much older, but the CPK engine supports loading older versions.

If you repack install.dat without changing anything at all and then make a patch from that, you will get a 500+ MB patch file.

Also making a patch itself is not going to work this way, we are not working with roms here, we are working with filesystems.
If you translate a file, then it will most likely increase in size and all pointers will be different.

Here an example:

Every single pointer in this file was changed to support more characters, the filesize increased from 24 KB to 27 KB and that file is not even repacked.

Making a xdelta patch is not going to work, except my v1.01 solution the only possible way to make a patch would be writting a custom patcher, but i guess no one will make one, since you need to make like 5000 little patches.

Thanks Falo, so the best option would be starting from scratch :cry:

Noooooo! :gun::hateit::nayps3:

Any chance this patch will b e able to affect a hard copy of the game? considering i bought SAO IM from Japan and have been searching for an english patch for the game rather than dloading a complete ISO of a game i already own. So if there is any chance that this will also apply for a hard copy, would you be able to tell me how to do so?

Cheers, sam4701952
