control, control control, control control, control control, control, that is all these major gaming companies do to your hardware and software and i'm fed up of it, it's the same with ps4, you don't update you can't use psn services or access your digital content. their pointless EULA means nothing in court they are not the police or the goverment, there are consumer laws that protect us from this BS and people should be more aware of them and use it against them.

nintendo have no right bricking your console like this, they have no right to do this at all, this will continue and escalate because the homebrew scene won't help us free our consoles from these control freaks or only care about piracy or selling to the highest bidder, it's a sad state of affairs really, i'm personally getting too old for all of this.

if they want to include unreasonable EULA changes, then i think its only fair users get to abuse said EULA changes too.....cant play without accepting a EULA......that would be grounds for taking a game back to a shop as you dont accept the legally binding contract attatched to it......so you can legally get a refund......16 days or so with a game....i think most people co do something in that time:rofl2:.......who needs piracy devices when they give you everything you need to just return any game after 16 days legally

If you buy a brand new factory sealed then you can't return it for a full refund although they'd still take it in as a trade in or such, of course the value would be lower than you originally paid for it.

CeX gives like a day or so to return the game but if it's faulty then you can return within 16 days, still, the disc in this case is not faulty as it is that you refuse to update the console so the game's perfectly playable.

Eesh, people really are making a big deal outta this. Either stay offline or update. Period.

difference is unless they get you to sign the EULA before you purchase the game how would anyone know what these terms where......you cant be sold something then inside it says "oh btw this doesnt work hahahah EULA protected" no if you dont accept the agreement the shop cant force you to keep it unless they showed you the agreement before purchasing

personally i dont really care all that much im just saying that adding manditory EULA's to stuff *can* backfire....especially if enough people take up the same scheme,

also the main point of issue here is the fact that "stuff" can be done without notice and without the users agreement, its all well and good if you think everything they do is great but this is effectivly a blanket EULA to do whatever the hell they like at all .....and if these kinds of EULA's become accepted.....where the hell does it end? wiiu hits its end off life...."well you agree we can do anything so yeah we will just disable it if we aint selling software no more".....whats that everyones accounts got hacked....1 auto update later "yay everyone just signed a waiver against legal action"

I have a great idea! All game software should come with a USB dongle or SD card that needs to be plugged in the system anytime you play the game. And each game has to be activated before use by entering a registration code online. Each and every copy of the game will have it's own software ID that can only ever be used on the console it was activated on.

Other than the USB/SD dongle part, congrats, you just created the original vision of the Xbone.

I know. I was being sarcastic. It's irritating how controlling these companies are becoming.

Here's something they should all add to their EULA: "ALL YOUR GAMES ARE BELONG TO US!".

That doesn't mean it'll automatically agree to EULA changes though. Fairly sure pulling that would get you sued faster than you can say "class-action".

I checked my Wii U's and it's using the latest firmware so I didn't get to read through the EULA but honestly, I don't care as much as the rest of you do.

Neither do I, but automatically accepting terms and conditions for users just because you left your console in standby is probably crossing several lines.

damn for forgot it uses wifi...too late you're updated :rofl2:....the new EULA forced you to accept to never disconnect it in future

Too bad I deleted the WiFi connections from the internet settings, so there. They can f**k themselves for all I care :creep: It can't download if I cleared all WiFi and LAN connection settings.

Once you've gotten to that stage you've pretty much allowed them to silently install all updates necessary by Nintendo's standards.

Granted, I'd have liked to have read the EULA but I'm not missing out on it as I'd just have skipped and pressed "I agree". :P
