Gaming Possible or not? Booting English install with german disc

Title.

Would it be possible to install a game from an english disc, then use a german disc to verify and play (in english).
I am asking because me and my bro both got an xbox and I got a german copy of Halo 3. I want to buy an english copy and install it on both xbox-es so that we can both play it in English.
My German isn't the best, but German games go for a lot cheaper than English copies, so I'm asking if it's a good idea to fork out a little more for an english copy.

you can try it, most european games are for all of europe just with the default language changed. It couldn't hurt but I doubt anyone can answer about that specific game, sorry

Alright, it can't hurt to try, worst case is one of us gets the german version (him xD)

No, Title ID wouldn't match so it just plays off the disc.

Both are PAL versions. Oh well, guess we'll have to deal with it.

EDIT: forgot to mention, only the game voices are in German, the menu "seems" to be fully in english, can't say for sure because i haven't played MP yet.

You could try it, however I highly doubt it.
I once tried a installing a retail GTA 4 copy and booting it with a pirate GTA 4 copy (both the same region) and it just continued loading from disc.

Sadly, just as DinohScene predicted, the ID didn't match and it still booted off the disc, oh well.
Kinda stupid that they didn't give you an option for audio, it's not like there's insufficient space on the disc to store everything (boy that reminds me a lot of gba/ds pokemkn games).

Well, guess it's spending a few quid more on the English versions is what you'll have to do then ;p

Personally, I don't get the fact that they translate games.
I learned to type/write/speak/ English thanks to playing games.
As well as watch English telly.

I got the English version. I understand german a bit, but I can't stand bad VA.

I don't underatand either why they translate games, I learned english thanks to video games. Can't they just put subs in, not only does it cost less, but you can support all 5 main european languages.
