Tutorial for (safely) PSN Access on PS3 CFW (Unban)
Hi Tempers,
This is a guide focussed on accessing the PSN network.
You shall not follow this guide if you haven't had any softmod experience on the PS3 at all i recommend to read: A lot of people already own a modded PS3 but they miss the pleasure of gaming online this simple guide will grant you online access even when you're banned.
And if you're not banned this guide also saves you from getting your own console ID bannned.
Please read Phase 3 before continuing.
Requirements:
PS3 Firmware: OFW 3.55 / CFW 3.55+
PC
USB-stick
This tutorial has 3 phases:
Phase 1: Getting Up To Date Files
First of all we are going to download the latest and most stable CFW Rogero 4.40 v1.03
Note: Rogero did release CFW 4.41 but we are using CFW 4.40 because it's really stable and CFW 4.41 hasn't been tested long enough.
Second we are going to download a backup manager i prefer above others because the extra features named multiMAN .
Last step in phase 1 is getting the Homebrew app named PSIDPATCH for 4.40 that will make it possible to go online safely.
Phase 2: Installing the Files
Now are we going to put the files on the usb stick.
Make sure the paths are identical to:
USBSTICK\PS3\UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP
USBSTICK\multiMAN ver 04.40.00 BASE CEX (20130503).pkg
USBSTICK\multiman_ver_04.40.00_upd_cex_20130502.pkg
Note: ^^^ Is a update install after the other one.
USBSTICK\PSIDPATCH4.40.pkg
If you put the files like above on your stick safely remove it from your pc.
Then put it on in the PS3.
Start your PS3 make sure you have no bluray game disc in your PS3 if you do remove it first before proceeding.
Go to the settings and hit System Update. Then hit Update via Storage Media.
It will show you the recognized firmware on the USB Stick.
Press X to install the firmware also accept the user agreements or it won't start installing the firmware.

After the restart we are going to install the latest multiMAN.
Go to Game>Singstar hit the singstar Icon and a pkg installer will be activated then select multiMAN ver 04.40.00 BASE CEX (20130503).pkg
repeat the step and install multiman_ver_04.40.00_upd_cex_20130502.pkg and PSIDPATCH4.40.pkg.
Now we are up to date.
Phase 3: Going Safely Online
I need you to read this phase carefully first i am going to explain the depths about this method.
All of the PS3 have a unique Console ID.
When Sony is banning people from PSN they ban the PSN account sometimes they ban the Consolde ID if your CID is banned there is no way of going online anymore even if you will go back to the Original Firmware.
The application PSIDPATCH allows us to change the CID.
You can use a CID of a broken PS3 or a old one.
You are also able to steal one when watching a PS3 video and noticing a CID.
But the best method to obtain one is from some PS3 community's.
There are some really smart guys able to generate the ID's and they share them with the community.
There is also a downside about generating the ID's.
The first problem is the morality problem if you are going to use a CID obtained from a generator there is a chance that it's a CID from a paying PS3 user who didn't mod his PS3 so the user can become a victim of the PS3 hack community.
Second those smart guys can be divided in 2 groups one that drop CID when they want to and the other group that sell personal CID's.
But are you willing to pay for a personal CID that can be banned anytime anyday. 3rd is that a CID in a community has a limited time of usage before getting banned from the network.
Of course you will be able to change the CID if you manage to obtain one again.
I personally joined a premium group where people share CID's if the one gets banned there will be a new CID provided immediately. It's faster and easier to get working CID's and play online.
If your CID hasn't been banned you are able to go online but then you're risking to get your CID banned if you're using this method your CID will be changed and your original CID will be safe.
If you're going back to OFW you will be able to access the PSN network without problems.
Here is a example of a CID.

Open notepad copy and past the CID and safe it as consoleid.txt
Put consoleid.txt on your usb stick then safely remove the stick put it on the ps3.
First start multiMAN and load the game you want to play online.
Exit multiMAN and start PSIDPATCH press L1 and the CID from consoleid.txt will be loaded if the CID isn't banned you will be able to access PSN again.
Also to are other options to random generate a CID if you're feeling lucky you can try to generate and test the CID.
To leave PSIDPATCH press Triangle and then just log in on PSN the usual way.
EDIT: Because the new OFW 4.46 signing in to PSN requires a update to 4.46. Do not update!
Please download 4.46 PSN enabler just like the other pkg files put it on the USB stick and then install it. Launch the app and enable the spoof. Now you will be able to get online again.
