Vita has shit games. I bought one so far physical, Killzone Mercenary. Never even beat it. Completed like 2 levels, hated it. Sold it. Iono, the only time I use my Vita is for playing the free PS+ games, or downloading PS1 Classics. Otherwise, it's my alarm clock.
the games are very niche and not for everyone... but for me, its the better of the two handhelds.

Exactly. If you're into the niche gaems the Vita offers than you will love it. It's not like the DS where there was something for everyone.
Don't worry Vita will be like the PSP, sucked for the first 4 years and then got OK then at the very end actually got totally worth it to own one. (Of course this is perspective of not owning one for many years so launch games = new to me. If I had owned one from the very beginning I probably would have a different perspective on it.)
So just put it away for a few years and take it out in the future where it will be awesome. You then will have a minty fresh system with tons of games to enjoy. Assuming of course the steady flow of quality games keeps up at it's current rate!
As a side bonus memory cards and games should be cheaper.

It's quite interesting to see how divided the opinions are.
If it was back in 2012 I maybe would have agreed with this thread, but two years later, it isn't as bad as people make it seem like.
There are good games on the vita and yes maybe it has become somewhat of an indie-handheld but I can't see any reason to complain about it.
I personally hope it doesn't get hacked until the next handheld gets released.
With the unit hacked wide open I don't think it will be attractive for indie-developers to port the games on to the PSV anymore.
The game are not expensive not at least here in Sweden I bought Tearaway and Killzone for approx 28USD each.
And i see more games in the same price range.
And to the OP, I'm not being disrespectful but next time you spend your money on a unit that maybe is a bit expensive
why not make some research?
Look which games are out, what's coming in the near future and what the status is on the hacking scene.

well when i bought it the situation wasn't as bad as it is now.....there was hope at that time....i know we are having Conception (3ds has it too) Miku,Mind Zero (no europe) FF (just a remake) Demon Gaze,Gravity Rush II (no complain) but it just doesn't feel like we're ever gonna have a "Peace Walker" game level here,a new (and not just a remake or a porting)Persona or Final Fantasy and even if we're gonna have it,it surely won't be vita exclusive.Ozito said:

I honestly don't see big disrepancy this year so far. Fine... 2013 3DS was unstoppable but so far, theres no need to panic. upcoming titles im excited for include freedom wars, DR2, trails in the sky second chapter, god of war collection, sly collection etc.
I think overall we all know the 3DS is better than the Vita in terms of games, the fact it has access to the totality of the DS library... but the Vita isn't a bad shout with access to most of the PSP + PS1 Library.. also upcoming PS Now + the fact is you are on PS+ you get a free 2 games every month...!
Btw i own a gaming PC, Vita, 3DS (hacked), PSP (hacked) and a PS3 (hacked). of course a lot of games for vita are available on PC but the portability in itself is a huuuuuuge positive! coupled with the fact I haven't bought a game yet apart from MGS HD collection in the recent sale due to PS+ and the 10 game megapack i got on purchase...
im a big fan of anime and i am contemplating learning japanese so i can play more vita imported games + watch anime w/o reading subs tho.

The PSvita is an odd system in that the majority of the stuff on it is quality. Unlike the 3DS or DS you'd be hard stretched to find games that are just outright bad or shovel where. Sure some or many might not be to your taste, but that is an opinion matter. The main problem is even if they are quality, plenty of what is on the system are ports or remakes. Some of which run less than stellar. Having frame issues or lag when things get to hectic. Prime examples being Stranger's wrath slowing down the moment more than 5 moving enemies are on screen, or Final fantasy 10 HD slowly down from seemingly nothing in the most random of spots.
That aside any original content almost seems scared to be on it if it isn't indie. All of the things trying new stuff out

Sony is a Japanese developer and they will please the people of Japan, Microsoft if the western developer, if you wanted generic shooter games then you should get a Xbox.

I would say I did, but then I look at my 3ds and look at how there's both Eastern and Western style games on it, and then look at the Vita how they have a whole backlog of PSone games they can release but won't...
I think that your the one who doesn't make sense.
Implying that all western players like shooters...
Not to mention Sony has more than just Weeaboo games.
