I bought this recently on ebay, it's a HDMI to RCA Cable. So will this cable work on the Wii U?
Unless you happened to own 0.00001% rare TV that accepts digital signal over component cable, no it will not work. That is a passive cable. No signal conversion is done.

99.99999% TV only accepts analog signal over component cable. It will NOT work.

In fact, this ebay seller was nice enough to put this in writing:
The cable doesn't own the chip to convert digital signals to analog signals,
Please at least pay attention before you buy, kay?

Oh that sucks. :/
Thanks for the reply. Is there any way to convert the HDMI output to Component?

Can't you simply order Wii Component cables online for $20? I'm reasonably sure they work with the Wii U.

I already have one hooked up to my Wii U. ;)
I need a way to convert HDMI to Component cause I want to use a capture card (LGP).
There's a passthrough where the HDMI signal from the Wii U goes to the input of the card, and the output which should go to the TV is HDMI.
But my TV isn't HD. So yeah.

Check the link again.

For Wii U you can force SD resolution.

Awesome! But how does the output work? I need the component cable to be fitted to the TV right?
Why does it look like I have to plug the component cable to that device?

Alright, got the Avermedia LGP yesterday. Tested it out today, works fine, only problem is I have no HDTV so I can't get the output since it's an HDMI output.
I thought I could get the HDMI cable from the Wii U to the Capture Card, and the AV Cable also from the Wii U to the TV would work but the Wii U will only output only one type of signal.

So I found this on Ebay, It's a HDMI to Composite/AV converter. I really think it could work.
But I'm not so sure. Do you think it could work? All I need to do with it is to connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI output from the
capture card to the converter. Then connect this cable to the output of the converter and to my TV. So will it work?

Really appreciate if someone could help. ^_^

EDIT:
Welp, I'm not the one with the patience in tech stuff. ;o;
So I researched about that converter in Youtube (lol youtube research...).
I found this:

It seems it works, and that's with the Wii U too. So I'm gonna get that now. :)
