I love when "analysts" like Pachter say "With the WiiU, you don't know where to look at. It's such a chore to look down at the screen where as the DS both screens are right in front of you."

Any way to make the WiiU look bad -__-
anyone that actually believes anything that blowhard fucktard says needs their head examined. i don't know HOW he still has a job?!!

I am really bugged out that they haven't released the full Wii VC catalogue (with the Wii U upgrades obviously) yet. I want to update the games I have already, to play them on the game pad >_<
That takes time to code, y'know :\
Actually, since the Wii VC is just an emulator they wrote with the original ROM injected into it (this even works with many ROM's that weren't released on VC if you inject them in yourself.) once they ported over the emulator to Wii U you'd think they could just throw whatever ROM into it that worked in the Wii version of the same emulator and it should work.

Maybe they've just released the ones they've already tested first. They might have a whole bunch of beta testers just playing completely through all their retro games on it first just to make sure there's no glitches that show up before they publish it.

Sounds like he never played on a Wii u because it's really not that hard, at all.

Anyway, do you think they will do gamecube vc in the future?

We have to be honest here, Pachter actually believes that if it isn't a first person shooter and realistic, it won't sell. Activision's dick must be long and hard and Pachter must love sliding up and down on it.

I remember reading something saying
'Gamecube cannot plug into a wii u console, therefor it will be remapped to the gamepad'
I forget where I read that, I read it around when I bought the wii u so it's not the exact text

They really need to release all of the Wii's virtual console library straight away on the the Wii U. Then they can spend their time drip feeding us GBA and GameCube releases, and the empty library of Wii U games won't feel so empty anymore with a full VC backlog.

But this is Nintendo we're talking about, of course they have to drip feed content that has already been released before...

I'm pretty sure they have to recode everything into the VC. It isn't just move here.
Besides that, the other companies "drip feed" stuff like this from the beginning too.
(Iirc, like bringing the PlayStation 1 games to the Vita when it first came out.)

It's weird, NES VC games are filtered on an HDTV, yet Snes games aren't. WTF?

When I switch to 480p they look fine, but again, NES games don't need 480p to have the bilinear filtering. Seriously Nintendo, WTF?

Snes is at 240p, NES aren't even 240p, they're closer to 180p. Weird. Both consoles look fine on the game pad since they're filtered there.

I've heard that they insist on custom emulation wrappers and rigorous testing for every VC game they release. Not to mention the manuals and marketing.

But still, I agree on the quantity vs. quality argument you make. They need to break from tradition and try new pricing strategies cause what they're doing isn't working. People would go nuts for the VC if they would dump a truck-load of ROMS with a $1 price point, or maybe bundling them 5 for $5 or something...

I think they'll eventually give bulk-pricing it a try. Give them another 5 years -- the Nintendo Ents need ample deliberation time. :P
