So is Nextbox the official name now?
No. Since it's going to run Windows 8, they just decided to say "oh fuck it", made the console spherical, and it's going to be called the Magic 8-Ball.

I'm really curious about this console now. The fact that the drives are usable for one time, that really makes me skeptic. Then again, those are rumors.. As much as I want to speculate, there's only one option: wait for more details. I can sort of expect that this disc rumor isn't true: making secondhand games a thing of the past sounds like a bad move to me...

I can't support always online on a completely closed platform, ever. You can always pirate old games on a Windows PC or run them through dosbox, but a modern console? It will either need to be ripped open or many games will just end up incredibly overpriced by people buying niche titles with small print runs simply to resell them. And that's without even considering 10 years down the line.

Also for people being stupid, every game will just come with a code like PC games have for years.

Only way I can see this working is if their game prices are much lower by comparison. Not that I personally would ever support a system like this on a console.

Care to provide a quote or pic of this bit of info I seem to have missed? Because it's not included in any of the info provided by the source's source...

I've used Xbox for so long, but I will definitely not be using the next gen Xbox if I can't use used games. The decision has never been easier for me than it is now. I will probably buy a PS4... or to keep things simple just upgrade/build a new PC since PS4 will probably be $600+ dollars.

Microsoft CEO: "We need something fresh, something that will attract more customers."
Microsoft Employee: "I know! How about we implement DRM that requires you to be online 24/7 and force digital downloads as opposed to optical discs?"
Microsoft CEO: "Brilliant! That's a a surefire way to draw in customers, I love it!"
