It wasn't released until ... I released it ;)
That's why I told you to wait a little, I would release it few hours later.

You don't understand the underline part? everything is underlined so you didn't understood everthing?

The official v3.0 is based on the revision 1180.
Since the release of the 3.0, there has been few updates (not official, only a beta update).
Other users are already using newer beta revision instead of the 3.0
So, I explained something which changes between r1196 to r1197 that the users needed to know.

It wasn't addressed to you particularly, but to all users who waited for the new revision too.

Edit:
Added DML 2.2+ new NoDisc support.

USB Loader GX r1198

Hello Cyan,

I just installed the new DM 2.2 and USB Loader GX r1198, as a previous version was giving problems to run Resinden Evil and Resident Evil Zero.

Now I'm getting a message I didn't get before: "the GCT cheat file is not in the same partition of the game, do you want to start the game without Ocarina, Yes or No?"

Why am I getting this message and what can I do to be able to use Ocarina again?

Also, I had a Resindent Evil Save but now it says not save file is available on any slot? Do you know why?

@Nocturno: Just for information, Resident Evil and RE Zero are also on Wii (called "Archives"). It's exactly the same game, even with the same controls. However, you wouln't be able to transfer your save file.
But if those are the only two games that are giving u problems...

I haven't found it yet but, is there a way to see the size of the game in GX??

Also, if a game doesn't have an image online (box or disc art), what's the best way to make one (unfortunately I don't have a scanner)?

in Fix94's DMbooter, there is the Japanese language option [...]
I think it should show the Game size when you are using Rotating Disc as "Game window Mode" in the GUI Setting.
But only Wii games are displayed. I'll check what's wrong. (my Wii report wrong game size)

There's a program to create Wii cover easilly. I forgot the name of the program, but it's somewhere in this forum.

I saw the japanese setting, I was wondering what it was used for. Thanks for explaining. I'll try to add it too, but I don't have any japanese game to test it myself.

Just adopted this loader after using CFG for years. Used the loader to make a copy of my nand, but the emunand shows blank channels with names for all the WiiWare and VC games I had stored on my SD.

Is there a way to pull those wads from my private folder on my SD or do I need to gather them from elsewhere and reinstall to emunand?
There's no way to extract these Wads from SD card using the loader. You don't have enough space on real nand to put them all and make a new dump?
You could make multiple dumps, but that's not easy to manage in GX (you need to change the path each time you want to change the nand).
You could also try using ShowMiiWads program to extract/insert Wads to EmuNAND to put them all on the same one.
A "Move this channel to EmuNand" feature would be great.

What am I doing wrong? DIOS MIOS still isn't being detected as installed in rev1198. It worked fine before. Does DIOS MIOS need to be installed to a particular ios to be detected?
All MIOS are installed on the same and unique slot : the MIOS slot. You can't have multiple at the same time, so maybe you installed a retail MIOS v10 over the previous MIOS? Try reinstaling DIOS MIOS v2.2

Now I'm getting a message I didn't get before: "the GCT cheat file is not in the same partition of the game, do you want to start the game without Ocarina, Yes or No?"

The message you have should tell you what's wrong and what you need to do:
The "GCT Cheat Path" is not on the same partition.
Solution -> Put that path on the same partition than the game you want to launch (usb1).
Go to Settings > page 2 > User Paths settings > GCT Cheat Path > put it in a folder on usb1

Now, create the ocarina cheat again, it will be saved on the new folder.

I don't know about the memory card problem.
Did you use NMM or a real memory card?
If you used NMM, remove your memory card from the slot.

I had this problem, I'd use either AnyTitleDeleter or ShowMiiWads (PC) to get rid of them.

I use rotating disc/carousel mode and it does list size but, only the total size of the hard disk and available space. Am I missing it?

I'll check for the program.

JP setting: okay. I think the more options that are available in DM that can be added to GX the better. Since you don't have any JP games, I can test a build if you like.

Some JP games tested... I'm kinda/really short on time today and tomorrow if someone wouldn't mind updating the list, that would be really helpful. Thanks! :D

My set-up: DM 2.2u3 AKA 7/20/12 edition, USBLGX r1198, component/480p

Adventure Island - ok, no jp patch ok
DK's Jungle Beat - ok, no jp patch ok
Donkey Konga - ok, needs jp patch for progressive check + memcard check, ok for game text though
Doubutsu Banchou (AKA Cubivore) - ok, no jp patch ok
F-Zero GX - NO, needs jp patch, but prog chk ok, afterwards junk text and missing gfx elements in game, like menu --- dmbooter ok
Kururin Squash - ok, needs jp patch for prog chk, after ok
Luigi's Mansion - ok, no jp patch ok
P.N.03 - NO, black screen --- dmbooter ok
PC Genjin (AKA Bonk's Adventure remake) - ok, no jp patch ok
Soul Calibur II - ok, no jp patch ok
Star Soldier - ok, no jp patch ok
The Legend of Zelda: The Four Swords - ok, no jp patch ok

If you always enable the japanese patch, is that a problem?
You need to enable and disable it depending on the game?
Sorry to clarify:
* if a game has "ok, no jp patch ok" I meant that the game plays fine without the patch in GX and all Japanese text displays properly.

* But after "ok", some games need the JP patch option (only in DMbooter right now) to display the "confirm progressive" screen or "memory card check" cannot be displayed in Japanese BUT, the main game's Japanese font is okay and plays fine.

* If I have "NO", I mean that the "progressive" and/or "memcard check" AND the game's text don't display properly.

Only P.N.03 doesn't boot at all unless booting via DMbooter with the Japanese patch on.
F-Zero will boot strangely: it shows the "progressive check" okay, not the "memcard check", and the main menu of the game is completely messed up (can't see it). Once booting via DMbooter and Japanese patch on, the game is perfect.

So, most games I tried were fine with some small Japanese font issues but the games were fine. Only two needed it to run. I have some more games to test but I really think this is something that needs to be in GX in order for GX to be completely compatible with DM. (Like the Japanese language option when loading JP games.)

Is that always needed? or only when using 480p? only in interlace, etc.?

My question was : If I always patch ALL games without the user choice, is that a problem?

What happens if you use the JP Patch on these games?
Adventure Island
DK's Jungle Beat
Luigi's Mansion
Doubutsu Banchou (AKA Cubivore)
PC Genjin (AKA Bonk's Adventure remake)
Soul Calibur II
Star Soldier
The Legend of Zelda: The Four Swords

Ah sorry, didn't catch that.
It shouldn't matter for 480p or interlace. Even without 480p, some games still don't display the memcard check properly.
I presume that it would be fine for ntsc-j games but I went back and tested all those titles via dmbooter with the JP patch on and they were fine (with my memory card for JP games in slot A).

But, the Gamecube is reallllllllly picky when it comes to memory cards and NTSC-U and NTSC-J and there is a problem with patching ALL games.

Still with the JP patch on, I tested various US games (with my memory card for US games in slot A) and all US games came up with memory card is corrupt/cannot be read. It's likely that with the JP patch on, the US game is able to load via DM because it's region free but because the JP patch is on, somewhere in memory it still thinks that it is a JP GC and the US memory card with the US game is "corrupt/unreadable" to the system.

So this JP patch ALL on would not be a good idea because of how picky the Gamecube is with US / JP games and memory cards. There should be a setting in the loader menu so that we can specify for JP games to have the JP patch on and US games to have it off. Unless that's something you can code in the background to apply the setting to NTSC-J games only and off for NTSC-U. I'm not a coder but that sounds possible because of the gameID codes... I dunno though.

of course US game don't need it.
But if ALL jp games are working with the patch, I will apply it to all "J" game region automatically. no need to put another option in the game settings, there are already too many option in my opinion.
I sent you a version to test.

wondering if anyone is having the same issue that i am...

i am using dm 2.2 and gx rev 1198. sometimes when i try to launch a gc game I haven't played before it'll black screen before the DIOS MIOS splash screen or the wii will shut off.

Edit: nvm, saw Cyan's post in the DM thread...

Launching games with USBGX is still not perfect and games either blackscreen or the Wii Shutdown.
I tried different things but I didn't find the reason yet.

Have you tried any of them?

I have RE Archives: Residen Evil 1 (PAL) but I haven't been able to run it. It hangs in a black screen just after I click start. I'm on a NTSC Wii
Is there anything I have to activate in order to play this game?

It used to work with Conf. USB loader but after I updated it, it doesn't work either.

In fact, it's not only with USBLoaderGX, it's doing the same with DIOS MIOS Booter.
I tried a different HDD too, and it's not working.
It's not just with new games, it's random. you need to retry many times.

so it's not the loader but either the Wii or Dios Mios tinyehci (usb) driver.

Maverick has the same problem.

Something strange just happened to me.
As Cyan suspected, my boot.dol was corrupted, causing the message "this is not a valid wii application" when loading the GX loader.

Out of curiosity, I replaced just the boot.dol with an older one I used to use (from GX loader 1.0) from an early backup.
Voila, after two months the GX loader was working again. HOWEVER some games don't work and the working games have Japanese or Korean writing during the safety instructions and when I press the Home Button!
Very strange since they are PAL games.

After that, I deleted my somewhat fixed GX loader from my SD card and put the original GX loader (backup) on it, version 1.0.
But nothing has changed.

The games that work, but have Japanese/Korean Safety Instructions (and Home Button screen) are e.g.
Anno
DK Country Returns
Call of Duty World At War
Call of Duty Modern Warfare Reflex
Zelda Skyward Sword

The games that don't work are e.g.
Call of Duty Black Ops
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3
Pro Evolution Soccer series

Any advice? I hope I didn't ruin anything. Should I just get GX loader 3.0?

There are different kinds. For IOS 222, 249, 250. How do I know which one to get?

Because I'm afraid to make mistakes.
I'm really the least knowledgable person on this board and had other problems before.
E.g. the reason why I finally switched to Homebrew was that my disk drive broke.

Eventually I'm going to use GX loader 3.0, but for know I just wanna figure out what was wrong.

Yes please, just update to 3.0 or latest beta.
1.0 is really old and might not be compatible with newer cIOS/Game protections. It might even work differently with the settings, that why going back without deleting config is not a good idea.
Just upgrade the loader (and delete all your config files too, so you are clean).
Update your cIOS too. Loaders and cIOS are evolving together and should match. using a (very) outdated element with an updated other is bad.

Install cIOS d2x v8 with base56 in slot 249; and d2x v8 base 57 in slot 250.
If you are not sure how to do it, search for ModMii and follow the instructions to re-hack your Wii.

Call of Duty BlackOps (and maybe the two others you listed) require the slot 250 base 57 to work.
