@Etheboss....any status update on your testing the dirty devkit theory?
Yep, sorry, i was busy...my own compiled version works just like the devs one...
What i did was totally delete devkitpro, then installed the latest from internet.

note: i did not need anything else

Also r-win (one of the devs) said he will update the wiiflowiki (or google page) so you can download the correct rev374 dol.
It will be 374, because that seems to be very stable ATM.

Greetz.
Etheboss

UPDATE: Wiiflowiki is updated, you will find revision 374 on the main page.

Take under account that this rev is still a beta even though the Wiiflow team thinks it is very stable.
If you do run into problems, you can come to our IRC to discuss it or wait for a final release.
If you installed the latest devkitpro from the internet then you are using DevkitPPC version 24. We were instructed earlier to use DevkitPPC version 23 (don't know if this makes a difference). I'll update to DevkitPPC version 24 and try compiling Wiiflow r374 and r375 to see if I still get the code dumps.

So you don't have to use the portlibs as instructed on the wiki ?

so added, 249 dol.. still choppy music, an now there is a static sound when choosing options.. but still all is good. i use channels to launch games so i don't go into the main wiiflow screen.

Well, i tried with devkitppc v23, and later with v24, both worked.

QUOTE(Dent @ Jul 8 2011, 09:41 PM) And now Wiiflow r376 source is available...
r376 is still tested..if proven stable, i will ask the devs again to upload it and make it available on the wiiflowiki.

I tested r374 from Wiiflowiki. I get codedump when launching COD:BO using IOS250 (not default IOS). It worked fine in R355 with same cIOSes installed.

Another problem is sometimes Wiiflow don't start using the forwarder. That also means that the Return to channel feature doesn't work, it just reboots the Wii. Starting through HBC apparantly works every time (I write apparantly because I haven't tried it so many times). In R355 I never had problems with the forwarder. I use the Starnight-FIX94forwarder-WSNF.

I didn't try revisions in between 355 and 374, and I haven't tested any dols that I compiled myself.

For people that still have IOS switching problems.. a lot has changed since r355, please try deleting the files in the settings folder again...

Please understand that the devs. are trying to work to a final version atm. so sometimes deleting settings or cache files is necessary.

correct,,, Im having problem to Wiiflow detect new games automatically. So, I need to delete:
sd:/wiiflow/cache/list/usb1_wbfs.db
sd:/wiiflow/settings/gameconfig2.ini
sd:/apps/wiiflow/wiiflow.ini

Doing this, then the new games are detected

i report the same sadly....same as before...same as it's always been whether i compiled myself or download from wiiflowiki....

i even went as far as to take a formatted SD card, only put :\apps\wiiflow\boot.dol [r374] on it....249wiiflow froze (multiple times) just after launching the coverflow (SD in computer shows all folders, but only titlesdump.ini and wiiflow.ini built....224 wiiflow loaded fine but crashed as described above for BO (also tried it for SMG, that crashed too)....

i have zero understanding why two people report r373/r374 as working fine and three of us have it crashing when changing game launch IOS....

...guess that means it wasn't the .dol after all...anyone have any new theories....?

EDIT: also tried moving only BO to a thumbdrive and changing my default folder structure from "USB:\wbfs\game name [ID6]\ID6.wbfs" to "USB:\wbfs\ID6.wbfs"....still no joy.

I don't see how I could've had a "dirty devkit" as you put it, when I simply followed the instructions for compiling that are posted at wiiflowiki. I compiled r374 on a freshly downloaded devkitARM and devkitPPC along with libogc 1.8.7 install. How I could "dirty" the build environment when actually installing it has very little user input, is beyond me.

@bfoos, sorry for that comment if i have offended you.

I was just pointing out that for me the cIOS slot switching in game settings works.
I had lots of trouble with my devkit after the devs changed the source to work with the latest devkit.
So i did a clean devkit install, and now wiiflow compiles fine and also works the same as the dol file i have from the devs.

So maybe the compile is not the always the problem.
Some issues are hard to follow, so it's trial and error for some people to see what works.
It could be that the cIOS is installed incorrectly or it is an older version, or people try a wrong base.
It could be wiiflow settings or HDD issues.

And ofcourse this is still a BETA...

I am sad to report that the r374 posted on the wiki doesn't work for me - even doing a clean install. I guess that this is a real bug, but it's odd that it only happens to some people.

@shortz: ...i too am like that, i just never compiled anything prior to r373...i still have wiiflow releases going back years and enough obsolete HBC apps, config files, covers, IOS .wads, etc. to fill a 16GB SD card....but that doesn't help me get r369 as suggested...

@Etheboss....any status update on your testing the dirty devkit theory?

@F.Lobot: ...okay, my bad.... i am a 224wiiflow-r228 user (prior to all this testing r355 onward)...i launch everything i can on [57]....like BO, i was [incorrectly] thinking Conduit 2 was one which required [57]....which is based on what i've read here on the temp....TBH, i never tested on [56]....i stand corrected....

Your SVN client can download older revs. For example, I use tortoise SVN and there is an option where you can choose the head revision (i.e. current rev), or you can specify the rev. Type in 369 and you're good to go.

I compiled r369 just before I left from work but didn't have time to test it
sad.gif
So how did it go with your self-compiled r369 version with regards to code dumps?

For the people who get the stackdumps. If you use the dol file on the wiki, you can email me a picture of the stackdump, or the numbers of the stackdump (0x80........ --> 0x........ --> etc). DO NOT email me a stackdump of your own compiled versions.

For the people with the compilation problems: for all of you the error is the same? A problem while processing the shellscript? We should be able to fix that.
Compiling Wiiflow should NOT require any additional steps: you do not have to copy the portlibs anywhere, and you don't require any additional libraries. Just install devkitPPC and libogc, and compile. I've just updated my devkit to r24, and it compiled without a problem.

Before testing R374 I deleted both the \apps\wiiflow and \wiiflow folder from my HDD, extracted 2.2-RC-1-(No-Dol).zip (from googlecode) and then placed the 374 ios249.dol (from Wiiflowiki) in the \apps\wiiflow folder, renaming it to boot.dol. Still I had the problems as I reported.

OK then, see previous post, if you used the r374 from the wiiflowiki, r-win would like to have a picture of the code dump.

Hopefully this pic is clear enough for you.
If its not just let me know and i will reproduce the error again on the wii and take a new pic.

I used r374(249 version) from the wiki.

Only folders i had on the hard drive were

apps/wiiflow/boot.dol
apps/wiiflow/meta.xml
apps/wiiflow.icon.png

wiiflow/boxcovers
wiiflow/covers
wiiflow/themes

Both d2x cios were installed through the cios installer

d2x v6 base 56 installed in slot 249
d2x v6 base 57 installed in slot 250

I got the dsi error when changing the ios version to 250 for COD:BO and then trying to play it.
Same thing happened when i changed ios version to 224(Hermes V5 57) as well
