Most external hard drives don't get power from the source. They use an AC/DC adapter that requires an outlet. If you disconnect that, the HDD would be off.
Skyward Sword works on my Wii with WiiFlow.
It worked fine because I used the original Wii Sports Resort disc before The movie is required before playing any MotionPlus games.
THANK YOU ALL~
I got a few troll responses but I don't mind it all that much. I think crowdsourcing this is pretty efficient since not everyone on the Internet is mean.
I need more responses and I don't really have time to ask my friends. (Relatives are dead or don't speak English) I'm sorry for violating the guidelines, I wasn't aware.
So I'm kind of desperate because I need more responses. I know this is a gaming site but it would be awesome if you guys helped me.
It's about American drone attacks; it won't take that long.

I'm surprised I even got fifth place. In my opinion, mine was pretty mediocre to Cyan's. I did take the simplicity approach but the details he used made it a lot simplier. He rightfully deserves first place.
As of now, you cannot play games natively from the external hard drive. You can use the eboot method to play off internal and it's recognized as a PSN download. You can not play backups without a backup loader such as muiltiMAN, Rogero, etc.
