    If No$GBA doesn't work for a particular game, you might want to consider using MelonDS, it now supports DSi too.

    You may no longer need one. The latest version of the MelonDS emulator supports DSi and can boot the DSi bios! Using that emulator in DSi mode, you should be able to utilise any DSi enhancements. :)

    The file extension used for saves depends on your emulator. Most use .sav, but DeSmuME uses .dsv. As for a save file editor, I only know of game specific ones, such as PokeGen for the Pokemon games.
