Now with 50% less errors!

Another big week but I still expect the usual "nothing for me 'cos I lack good taste" comment. smileipb2.png
I'm expecting forum slowdown as some games may not work and I expect to issue a shit load more suspensions than usual. smileipb2.png 2

Please Read Before asking When A Game Will Be Dumped:
These dates are what retailers say is out unless stated otherwise, sometimes they make dates up for pre-ordering purposes so not all can be trusted. These dates could also be "shipping dates" which usually means that that's the date when games get shipped to stores so a game could either be in stores on that day or after.

Some games may get delayed some others not listed may appear but at the moment of posting these are correct. Also just because a game is released in stores it doesn't mean that they'll appear on our internets but NA titles usually appear on our 'nets Wednesday night UK time.

Have patience and remember scene releases are not a right but a privilege.

Releases For Nintendo DS

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized

User posted image

My Wanted Level: Will give it a play.
Forum Wanted Level: A lot will want it seeing that they only have a DS.

Region: North America/Europe Genre: First Person Shooter
Developer: n-Space Publisher: Activision

Why didn't they just add a 2 at the end? Might end up confusing some people and make them think that this is just the first DS game.
QUOTE
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized delivers an arsenal of cutting-edge weaponry, vehicles and tactics, arming players with precision controls for battle across the world's most dangerous hotspots. Gamers fight on the ground in intense building-to-building tactical combat, hack into enemy computer terminals, take the controls of military vehicles like Battle Tanks and UAV spy drones, or man the guns of an AC-130 gunship.

The game features a six-player online multiplayer mode that allows friends to host their own server, as well as the brand new Survival Mode, giving players a variety of weapons to hold off waves of oncoming enemy forces and an expanded six-player online multiplayer mode. Also, Arcade Mode will allow gamers to replay the game's single-player with a time limit and running score, with extra points awarded for specific achievements.

The last two were decent and from what "those who have played it" have said it improves on the last game massively. Apparently its it own stand alone game just set in the MW world. Such a shame that this sort of effort can't be put into the Wii game even though World At War Wii sold a shit load more than the DS one.

Harvest Moon DS: Sunshine Islands

User posted image

My Wanted Level: Meh
Forum Wanted Level: No one seems to care

Region: North America Genre: Farm sim
Developer: Marvelous Publisher: Natsume

It feels like a very long time since we had a good Harvest Moon game. The DS ones have been ok at best but also quite bug ridden. Most of us have had to make do with Rune Factory which is a great game but still we are waiting for a good HM game. Sadly this is just another Island of Happiness which I can't say I liked at all.
QUOTE
The islands are in peril! Years ago, a powerful earthquake struck the Sunshine Islands. In Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands, it's up to the player to raise the sunken islands by finding the magical Sun Stones. Raise the islands to meet new characters, harvest new crops, and befriend animals such as ducks, monkeys, and badgers. In Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands, players rejoin all of the beloved characters from Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness, and get to meet a number of new friends as well. Players will grow and harvest crops, care for animals, mine, fish, and compete in festivals in their quest to restore the Sunshine Islands to their former glory. With a little luck, they may even find true love and start a family along the way.

Hopefully most that was wrong with the last one will be fixed but I can't say I'm expecting much. Also I heard that the Wi-Fi features are taken out for the US release.

Phantasy Star Zero

My Wanted Level: Gimme gimme
Forum Wanted Level: A lot.

Region: North America Genre: Action RPG
Developer: Sonic Team Publisher: Sega

Hands up who already played the Japanese version online a lot?
QUOTE
Phantasy Star™ Ø takes place on an alternate Earth 200 years after the “Great Blank,” a massive war that has reduced the once-prosperous civilization to almost nothing. The sole surviving Humans have worked hard to exist peacefully and have built thriving Cities. The Humans that adventure past the outskirts of these Cities, called Hunters, explore the vast wilderness and hunt dangerous monsters to keep Cities safe. Players will take up the role of Hunters and select from three types of races and different classes, as well as gender for a total of 14 customizable character types. Each character type will play very differently and give players access to a great range of items, armor and weapons. Featuring over 350 unique weapons, gamers will venture out on “Earth”, combat dangerous monsters to gain experience and meet new major characters. As players explore further, they will unravel the mystery of the “Great Blank” and discover a dangerous new force that must be stopped.

Three races are present in this installment, the Humans, the androids Casts and Newmans, a new type of beings that descended from the moon. Depending on what strengths you value and what weaknesses you can afford to have, decide your player character's race and profession.

The game takes place two centuries after a great war which destroys everything. To rebuild civilization, the humans, the only race left on the crumbling world did all they could and constructed cities. Within the city everything remains peaceful, but once they step out, the people are accosted by enemies.

To keep their cities safe, the humans formed the hunters organizations and joined forces Casts to combat the enemies' aggression. However, there is another race which humans have forgotten for they have disappeared even from the history books. When the Newmans descend from the moon, new opportunities for adventures and conflicts opened.

* Play online with your friends and talk using "Visual Chat", a take on PictoChat where players communicate by drawing on the touchscreen
* Three online modes are available to play as well as an offline story mode.
* Phantasy Star Zero contains over 350 weapons to choose from and also has two new weapon classes, Shields and Gunslashes
* 14 Customizable character types

Amazingly Sega haven't really talked this release up much recently especially so close to its release.

My Wanted Level: I'll give it a try
Forum Wanted Level: Some want it

Region: North America Genre: S-RPG
Developer: Idea Factory Publisher: Ignition Entertainment

Man this is old! The Japanese have had this game since June 2008.
QUOTE
Choose your own motherland, invade and unify the world of Neverland by becoming the overlord of the rest of the thirty nine countries. This game has already made a name for itself with the last installments by having a cast of intriguing characters and a complex web of political as well as personal relationships between them.

This newest installment makes use of the touch pen facility in battle wars to make controls more intuitive. Direct your armies with your touch pen and indicate the speed they should march at with your movements. Some armies are better with speedy battles and some are better with prolonged sieges, understand your forces before you deploy them.

Each character has a different set of attacks when they enter the battlefield. Use your touch pen to initiate special attacks against your enemies. You need to deal with random events like taxation, diplomatic missions, battles etc at random intervals, so be sure that you are equipped for all of these tasks at all times.

View event scenes once you have accomplished a specific task. There is a library section that allows you to review all the scenes and graphics awarded to you. Since the game consist of elements from all the previous installments, there is a glossary section for you to look up the terms. This feature is especially helpful for the beginners who start their Spectral Force experience with this game.

Will definitely give this a go but only when the DS releases have quitened down.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Arcade Attack

My Wanted Level: Meh
Forum Wanted Level: For some reason people want it.

Region: North America Genre: Scrolling Beat-em-up
Developer: Ubisoft Publisher: Ubisoft

To me this looks really crappy. They should have stuck to a more 2D design.
QUOTE
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Arcade Attack pits the four Ninja Turtle brothers against their old nemesis, Shredder, and his many villainous henchmen. The game features a combination system that enables players to string together uppercuts and roundhouse kicks to unlock a series of moves powerful enough to take out even the strongest enemy. The game also includes a cooperative mode, allowing for arcade action with either a friend via local wireless, or a system-controlled Turtle brother.

QUOTE
Revved up for the next-generation of race fans, this 2009 incarnation of ExciteBike uses the classic 2D, four-lane racing style of the NES original and adds in exciting new features such as motion control and online gameplay.

Expecting a good fun title that is basically an enhanced version of the NES game but with new features. Now do Kid Icarus in the same vein Nintendo.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex

My Wanted Level I'm curious to play this version
GBAtemp Wanted Level Some want it.

Region North America Genre: First Person Shooter
Developer: Infinity Ward (original)/Treyarch (Wii Port) Publisher: Activison

I have a PC that can run this at the highest quality but then I do for World At War but I really enjoyed the Wii controls on that version so I didn't mind a lower res port seeing it played better for me. This one however...not sure but I am certainly gonna play it to see how how it turned out.
QUOTE
War rages on in the fourth edition of Activision's acclaimed war game. For the first time in the series, Call of Duty moves away from WWII to the modern battlefield. Armed with an arsenal of advanced and powerful modern day firepower, players are transported to treacherous hotspots around the globe to take on a rogue enemy group threatening the world. As both a U.S Marine and British S.A.S. soldier fighting through an unfolding story full of twists and turns, players use sophisticated technology, superior firepower and coordinated land and air strikes on a battlefield where speed, accuracy and communication are essential to victory.

* 2 Local Co-Op Players
* Offline Co-Op Multiplayer
* Online Play: 10 Versus

The problem I have with this is that Activision should have commissioned an all new game for the Wii and maybe also port it to PSP & PS2 just to cover costs. The first Wii title sold well over a million copies so its not as if its not worth it but to me this is Activision being cheap sons of bitches with Wii development. Weirdly the DS one is a new game and now a downgrade. There is no media for this apart from the early BETA images. The fact that there is no footage either is a bad sign especially when one of Activisions "lower" IP's "Jurrassic: The Hunted" has lots of footage. Something tells me that Activision are hoping that the good name of Modern Warfare will sell this and not a quality release, I hope for Wii owners that I am wrong.

Treyarch are confident that this is a better "product" then WaW, they claim the engine has been enhance to allow better particle effects & higher texture resolution. IGN said that they have seen it in motion and it didn't look very impressive compared to Mario Galaxy & Metroid Prime 3...ouch?

Click to view video...its not of the game but it could represent it:

Marines: Modern Urban Combat

User posted image

My Wanted Level I'm curious
GBAtemp Wanted Level People are curious...like with Ninjabrad Man.

Region North America Genre: First Person Shooter
Developer: Destineer Publisher: Destineer

Ah Destineer's Call of Duty killer...its actually a port of a Xbox game called "Close Combat: First to Fight" which actually had some good reviews for it.
QUOTE
Get ready for the most intense, realistic military shooter to ever hit the Wii platform. Grab the Wii remote and lead your squad into battle with tactics and strategies used by the real U.S. Marine Corps. Marines: Modern Urban Combat brings the thrills of first person shooters to the Wii with intuitive Wii controls, deadly AI, amazing squad dynamics, and more!

* This is no arcade shooter! Lead your four-man squad through the deadly streets of Beirut, using the tactics and tools of the US Marine Corps.
* Both your squad and your enemies feature deadly AI unlike anything you've ever seen before. Step up and command your squad in the only FPS for Wii that lets you issue orders to your fellow Marines!
* Gameplay controls have been rebuilt from the ground up to take advantage of the Wii's unique motion-based control scheme. Take on your friends in an all-new split-screen multiplayer mode!

I looks a lot less impressive than the four year old Xbox game...why exactly? Oh yeah Destineer mostly make cheap ass games. Still chances are that it could play as well as the original game and after all Destineer did make the DS game Homie Rollerz so it can't be all that bad...oh wait.

My Wanted Level Not sure
GBAtemp Wanted Level Some want it.

Region North America/Europe Genre: Football
Developer: Konami Publisher: Konami

PES2009 is a game I always stick in my Wii from time to time, for me its the best modern footy game far far better than the FIFA series...but its not perfect. Will this improve on the last one?
QUOTE
PES 2010 is the pinnacle of football games! After listening to the feedback from thousands of PES fans, PES 2010 benefits from a raft of new additions and changes.

PES 2010 focuses on enhancing the excitement of matches between players, making for a truly challenging experience that will constantly test the player. Intuitive zonal defending will cover spaces and players need to look constantly for new ways to attack. PES 2010 focuses on being a real soccer simulation, as it requires both strategic play and quick reactions, as in real life. In addition to key out-field elements, goalkeepers are more versatile and with abilities matching those of modern shot-stoppers. The game's referees have also been reworked, with smarter AI elements allowing them to make more balanced calls during matches.

To be honest this sequel feels a bit like its been released too soon especially seeing the last one only came out in March of this year. I probably wont be buying this one but it may replace PES 2009.

Harvest Moon: Animal Parade

User posted image

My Wanted Level Not sure...depends if its good
GBAtemp Wanted Level Some will want it.

Region North America Genre: Farming
Developer: Marvelous Publisher: Natsume

The second HM game for the Wii that isn't a port of a Gamecube version. The first one was ok at best and this doesn't look to be that much better
QUOTE
In Harvest Moon: Animal Parade, the divine tree which once stood in the middle of the Harvest Goddess' pond is weakening, the creatures are beginning to leave the land, and the five bells have lost their power. The Harvest Goddess believes that only the strength of the Harvest King can help revive the earth and bring the tree back to life. It's up to the player to help the Harvest Sprites ring the five mystical bells, summon the Harvest King, and revive the Harvest Goddess' tree and the land. Players will find plenty of activities in Harvest Moon: Animal Parade, including cultivating crops and caring for wild and exotic animals such as penguins, pandas, and monkeys. Players can take their exotic animals out for walks, teach them tricks, and even ride some of them around town! When the circus rolls into town, players will also need to help the ringmaster find the escaped animals. Befriend the lion, giraffe, and hippopotamus to save the show!

I hope its a good game I really do even though these sorts are best suited for handhelds.

Rogue Trooper: Quartz Zone Massacre

User posted image

Region North America Genre: Strategic Shooter
Developer: Rebellion/Reef Entertainment Publisher: Tri Synergy

Alright I don't usually write up games that have already been released in English but I'm making an exception to this one seeing that its an overlooked gem. It came out in Europe this year it was also out on Xbox, PC & PS2 but its a very good a solid title that really does fill the void in the action genre on the Wii.
QUOTE
On the hostile planet of Nu Earth, there are tales of a lone warrior. A man who appears out of thin air to take out whole platoons, then disappears back into the shadows. In the centre of a futile war, one man can swing the balance: the ultimate soldier and last survivor of the massacred Genetic Infantrymen, hell-bent on revenge ... the Rogue Trooper.

Based on the 2000AD comic series, Rogue Trooper, Rogue Trooper blends intense third person action and next generation stealth. Rogue's arsenal offers him a unique advantage over his opponents; encoded bio-chips containing the digitized personalities of his fallen comrades are implanted in his gun (Gunnar), helmet (Helm) and backpack (Bagman). Rogue Trooper features intense online gameplay modes, where gamers can experience up to four-player co-operative gameplay in all new maps.

This game oozes personality, gameplay and it has some great voice acting in it too. It isn't a perfect game but its an excellent and overlooked title. Even on the PC/Xbox/PS2 it was overlooked but there are so many elements in this game that are original and even improve on other games in the genre and I cant recommend it enough for anyone with those consoles and for Wii gamers looking for something like this, its essential!

Overall I give it 8/10. The camera could be done better and it could be a lot longer and it also would have been great if there had been some online play but Wii gamers have nothing else like this. If you have the other consoles as well as a Wii then get this version, it has the clarity of the PC version as well as some very well made Wii controls. I hope the US release gets this game more well known.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers

My Wanted Level Will give it a play
GBAtemp Wanted Level Very high, FF fanboys in this forum.

Region Japan Genre: Action RPG
Developer: Game Designers Studio Publisher: Square Enix

This has been in development for so so long, before 2006 in fact & only last year there was a rumour that it had been cancelled but its out this year, not only in Japan but the North American release is out next month! WTF? This is only the second retail FF game for the Wii though the last one was a port of the last DS Crystal Chronicles game.
QUOTE
thousand years have passed since the events of the original Final Fantasy: Crytal Chronicles. The destruction of the Yuke Crystal during the Great War had at once brought the victorious Lilty Tribe prosperity, the defeated Yuke Tribe apparent annihilation, and the world a new age of science and reason. In this new era exists a rare breed of powerful beings called "crystal bearers," whose seemingly magical abilities have led them to be feared and scorned by the public. The young mercenary Layle is one such crystal bearer, who has been hired to escort the new passenger airship Alexis, the pinnacle of Lilty technology and a symbol of their current dominance. However, when the Alexis is suddenly besieged by a horde of monsters, Layle comes face-to-face with an adversary thought to have vanished from the pages of history, on a quest that may threaten the future of the world...

It is from the people who did the first FF:CC game on the Gamecube but so far the reception from Japan hasn't been that great with Famitsu giving it 7/8/7/8...so its good but not great according to them.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii

User posted image

My Wanted Level Will drop any game to play it
GBAtemp Wanted Level High but could be higher

Region North America Genre: Old school platformer
Developer: Nintendo Publisher: Nintendo

The reason this is included in this weeks is that I expect it to come out before...well perhaps. When I first saw this game at E3 I was "wtf? This should be a bonus mode on Mario Galaxy 2" but over time I've seen and read more and more about it until I've finally realised that this IS indeed a fully fledge game. This game is going to surprise the Mario fans who are angry that it is what it is.
QUOTE
This New Super Mario Bros. is a throwback to the style of the original Super Mario Bros. and allows four players to play the game together.

Players can navigate the side-scrolling worlds alone as before or invite up to three others to join them at the same time on the same level at any point in the game for competitive and cooperative multiplayer fun. With the multiplayer mode, the newest installment of the most popular video game franchise is designed to bring yet another type of family entertainment into living rooms and engage groups of friends in fast-paced Super Mario Bros. fun.

* New Super Mario Bros. Wii offers a combination of cooperation and competition. Players can pick each other up to save them from danger or toss them into it
* Mario, Luigi and two Toads are all playable characters, while many others from the Mushroom Kingdom make appearances throughout the game. Players can even ride different Yoshi characters and use their tongues to swallow enemies – or their fellow players
* In some areas, players use the motion abilities of the Wii Remote controller. The first player to reach a seesaw might make it tilt to help his or her character reach a higher platform – and then tilt it incorrectly just to mess with other players.
* New items include the propeller suit, which will shoot players high into the sky with just a shake of the Wii Remote and Mario's new ability to transform into Penguin Mario
* At the end of each stage during the simultaneous multiplayer mode, players are ranked based on their score, the coins collected and the number of enemies defeated

Reviews have been great and most are saying that the later half of the game is going to own most seasoned game players...oh I hope they are right! Bit miffed about the lack of online but saying that these sort of multiplayer games are only fun when people are in the same room as you.

Activision on the Wii is mostly either downgraded ports of good 360/PS3 games but even worse or shovelware that Zoo Games/DSI Games would be proud of, this looks a cut above most games. Ok GH5 is actually very good but...ssshhh you didn't see me write that.

Last month or so they announced "Jurassic: The Hunted" with very little fanfare and everyone pretty much assumed that even the "HD" versions would be awful so hope for the Wii version was pretty low, lower than even Quantum of Solace (which is actually a bad Wii game that some people like). Anyway here is footage of the Wii version of this Turok wannabe and while its hardly at the high end of FPS goodness that PC and none Wii console owners get, at least it looks better than Far Cry Wii & QoS. I would go as far as say that it looks better than Conduit (though to me that didn't look that great anyway) but then thats not saying much at all.

Pretty sure most comments will be "blah blah N64 blah blah Dreamcast, blah blah Conduit was teh hawtness" mostly by people who have never seen a Dreamcast or N64 title but whatever. I'm still not expecting much from this title but at least the people porting the game has put some effort in there albeit in a game that looks like another generic FPS on whatever console its on.

The game is out this in the US today.

For those that don't know Famicom Wars DS2 was of course already released in both Europe & NA back in 2007, I would feel for the Japanese folk but its not as if they don't usually get first dibs on games anyway. Its disheartening to see that most of the games coming have already been released in Japan and yet Japan only has one new game announced for next year..why is that? Are Nintendo focusing more on Wii or are they secretly working on games for the DS follow up?

Some games may get delayed some others not listed may appear but at the moment of posting these are correct. Also just because a game is released in stores it doesn't mean that they'll appear on our internets but NA titles usually appear on our 'nets Wednesday night UK time.

Have patience and remember scene releases are not a right but a privilege.

Rabbids Go Home

My Wanted Level: I'd like to have it
Forum Wanted Level: People will want to try it
DSi Extras:

Region: North America Genre: Puzzle
Developer: Ubisoft Montpellier Publisher: Ubisoft

Different to what the Wii is getting, DS owners will get something very familar to the PC classics "Sid & Als Incredible Toons" and "The Incredible Machine".
QUOTE
The Rabbids first comedy-adventure will take them to the moon or bust! Those crazy Rabbids have an infallible plan: collect all the human stuff they can find, heap it onto a giant pile and literally climb home to the moon. But not so fast! The Humans revolt, unleashing the Verminators whose only objective is to exterminate the Rabbids. Rabbids Go Home game features include:

* The Rabbids First Puzzle-Adventure Game: The Raving Rabbids, using a shopping cart, will have to solve the puzzle of each level and collect as much stuff as they can to build a giant pile to their home… the moon!
* Same storyline as the Wii version, different gameplay: The game features a true story mode, including hours of puzzle-based gameplay.
* Stir up funny chain reactions in 150 brain teasers based on physics and funny Rabbids characters. The goal is to lead a shopping cart to the Toilets, collecting as many maximum resources as possible on the way.
* 15 tricky levels to actually build a huge pile to the moon: Test your reflexes and your skills with the stylus!
* Challenge mode: Four delirious challenge modes of 20 levels each, apart from the story mode and with different rules and objectives. Create hilarious situations by getting rid of those Raving Rabbids or making them fly! But be careful to not miss the TV show.
* Unique art direction: Encounter a cast of colorful, oddball characters (humans, Verminators, dogs, etc.) and explore a remarkable parody of the modern world!
* Exclusive level editor: Create your own puzzles and share them with your friends and the whole RGH community! Also download other players' puzzles for hours of additional gameplay.
* My Rabbids (only on Nintendo DSi): Use the camera to take a picture, and customize it with funny Rabbid animations to make your friends laugh!

A damn sight better then most Ubisoft DS games and I look forward to playing it.

Need for Speed: Nitro

User posted image

My Wanted Level: Will play it at work
Forum Wanted Level: Those with only a DS will want it

Region: North America Genre: Arcade Racer
Developer: EA Montreal Publisher: Electronic Arts

NFS hasn't been too bad on the DS but then it hasn't been too great.
QUOTE
Boasting a wholly unique look and feel, Need for Speed Nitro thrusts gamers into an exciting flurry of over-the-top fun, where each race track features big air jumps, smackable objects, shortcuts and more! Battle through the mayhem of aggressive cops, take corners at 150 mph, and own the competition on extreme tracks. In the heat of adrenaline-pumping competition, gamers must take risks on the road to build up Nitro boost and use it at the right moment to leave their rivals in the dust. They must also be ready to escape relentless cops with a propensity for road blocks. Players who activate their Heroic Driving moves at the perfect time can pull off over the top evasive tricks, outsmarting determined law enforcement in the process.

Not only do you have access to an impressive list of licensed cars, but you can also attach a graphic to your ride that will overtake the world when triggers are activated, vibrantly telling the story of their racing dominance. You can also decide how you want to one-up your rivals by picking from a fresh and exciting batch of game modes that feature everything from traditional circuit races to new, over-the-top modes like Smack'm'all.

* Ten Game Modes: Showcase racing prowess in a variety of fresh and exciting race modes including, Elimination (last place driver is eliminated at the end of every lap), Circuit (complete 3 laps, first one wins), Smack’m’all (smash objects in a limited time), Tag the World (achieve 100% tagging score in shortest amount of time) and many more!
* Extreme Tracks— From the streets to the off-road to unexpected places like a rollercoaster, each track will feature big air jumps, smackable objects, shortcuts and more.
* Battle to the Finish Line — Whatever the position in the race, players can still build up their nitro boost and use it at the perfect moment to take the lead. However, they can also be taken out by the cops at any time. Anything can happen right to the very last second.
* Heroic Driving – Use the Nitro meter to dodge the cops or overtake rivals by triggering spectacular Heroic Driving Moves like jumping over cars or driving on two wheels.
* Pick and Personalize Rides — Choose from over 30 licensed cars, ranging from modern to classic to exotics to tuner. Then customize them with pre-set colors and images.
* Tag the World — Attach a graphic style to each car and rely on racing finesse to hit triggers scattered on the road. Once activated, the world will be marked with the unique graphic style, loudly proclaiming racing excellence.
* Nitro-Charged Multiplayer— With WiFi, up to four players can take part in intense races, battling it out for victory. Even if they don’t own the game, several tracks, cars and game modes can still be shared.
* World Tour Campaign — Take part in street races across six cities throughout the world, including Cairo and Dubai, to unlock new cars, tracks and challenges.

As long as AI, tracks and controls are good we should be in for a treat. At least DS owners got something made for them, PSP owners sadly had to make do with a dumbed down version of Shift.

C.O.P. The Recruit

User posted image

My Wanted Level: I'm weary about it but I want to play it regardless of reviews
Forum Wanted Level: A lot.

Region: North America Genre: Free Roaming Action
Developer: VD-Dev Publisher: Ubisoft

Ubisoft to out do GTA (albeit with a lot less crime) with an all 3D free roaming adventure. It looks to be techinically the most advance DS game out there which no suprise as its by the unfortunatly named developerd VD-Dev who did the techincially impressive and actually good GBA titles V-Rally 3, Stuntman as well as the decent enough Asterix & Obelix XXL & Driv3r. They also did the classic Jim Power games as well as the pretty good GBC titles Smurfs' Nightmare & Loony Toons: Carrot Crazy. Its really good to see these developers back making games.
QUOTE
Dan Miles is a former underground street racer and new recruit in the Criminal Overturn Program (C.O.P.). Under the terms of the C.O.P., Dan has become a street detective working to protect New York citizens against large-scale threats. Working with his mentor, Detective Brad Winter, Dan is investigating a series of terrorist attacks in the city when Brad is falsely arrested, putting the investigation on hold. While trying to uncover the truth behind Brad's arrest, Dan goes undercover and returns to his life on the streets. Little by little he gets wrapped up in a deadly, widespread conspiracy and must work to prevent a potentially catastrophic attack on the city.

* Experience the thrill of cruising the streets of New York City without any loading times! C.O.P. The Recruit features an open-world 3D experience running at 60 frames per second (FPS). The game's engine also allows for a wealth of detailed imagery, whether driving at 120 MPH or shooting your way through the gorgeous interior environments
* C.O.P. The Recruit will allow gamers to experience all aspects of being a police officer recruit with 60 missions and over 20 hours of diverse gameplay. Get behind the wheel of some of the fastest cars around, and use the stylus to shoot down enemies and spy on terrorists
* Experience a bustling, vibrant New York City, complete with pedestrians on the street, cars rushing to avoid traffic, and boats navigating the surrounding waterways of Manhattan. Explore the 6 square miles of the city and experience a wide variety of environments and climate conditions
* As a recruit, you will have access to New York City's most powerful tools. Use your PDA to plan and launch a SWAT team assault through your DS system's microphone, set up road blocks, summon an ambulance, access the city's camera system to locate your targets, and much more

Yeah it looks amazing but lets face it, 3D on the DS in the past has been a pain and I hope that Ubisoft have a good control system that works and doesn't make you feel crippled. Could this outsell GTA:CW? Possibly seeing that game was a Mature rated title while 12 years old could buy this one.

Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron

User posted image

My Wanted Level: Not fussed
Forum Wanted Level: Some want it

Region: North America Genre: 3rd Person Shooter
Developer: n-Space Publisher: LucasArts

Star Wars on the DS...not been great so far though I did really like Revenge on the Sith.
QUOTE
Where the Wild Things Are is a fun-filled adventure that takes players on a journey through the mysterious island of the Wild Things. Players assume the role of Max, "King of All Wild Things," as they team up with the fearsome but loveable creatures. While journeying across their island, players learn amazing new skills and abilities. Solve action puzzles, overcome challenging obstacles, and play through a unique story narrative to uncover the mystery behind the hostile island and save the Wild Things before it's too late!

The game is from n-Space who did the alright DS Call of Duty games, could be better Geist Gamecube and some real bad stuff. I saw a review for this game a week or so ago and they said it was bleh.

LEGO Rock Band

User posted image

My Wanted Level: None, I have a Wii so I'll get that version and even then...meh?
Forum Wanted Level: Will be good for those with DSi's and those who refuse to get a guitar grip for GH.

Region: North America Genre: Rhythm
Developer: Backbone Entertainment / TT Games Publisher: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment

Guitar Hero on the DS is bad, its just stupid and the guitar grip makes you look like a little tard. The tracklisting is also pretty bad too. Much more pirate friendly is LEGO Rock Band which anyone with any DS model can play.
QUOTE
LEGO Rock Band is a unique family-friendly music experience which will allow families, tweens and teens to experience a wild journey to rock stardom where they can, "Build a band and rock the universe. The game combines the multiplayer music experience of Rock Band with the fun, customization and humor of the LEGO videogame franchise packed with brilliant chart-topping songs and classic favorites suitable for younger audiences.

Players will become rockers as they embark on a journey to stardom that the whole family can enjoy as they work their way through local venues, stadiums and fantasy locations on Earth and beyond that mimic the imaginative settings that the LEGO world offers. Also continuing the LEGO "build-and-play" gaming experience, players will be able to create their own LEGO Rock Band style as they customize their minifigure avatars, band and entourage, including roadies, managers and crew. L

This game is in direct competition with Band Hero which. The tracklisting is of course more "mainstream" friendly than previous RB/GH games and even then I probably only like 12 out of the 25 songs there. Still could be fun...I guess.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lego_Rock_Band#Soundtrack

Band Hero

My Wanted Level: Nothing at all.
Forum Wanted Level: Some want it...I guess.

Region: North America Genre: Rhythm
Developer: Vicarious Visions Publisher: Activision

Yet another Hero game from Activision and one that no one actually asked for, say what you like about Rock Band but at least they haven't milked the shit out of the franchise.
QUOTE
Band Hero delivers an explosive social gameplay experience with the addition of vocals and drums -- via an innovative new Drum Grip -- to the guitar and bass gameplay popularized by the Guitar Hero On Tour trilogy. Band Hero allows handheld gamers to choose the way they want to play in multiplayer mode with any instrument combination of guitar, bass, drums and vocals as they strum, drum and belt out some of today's most popular tracks across multiple genres of music, including rock, pop, alternative and punk.

With the largest and most diverse set list in a Nintendo DS Lite offering to-date, Band Hero offers fans 30 master recordings from today’s top artists including: Blink-182, Avril Lavigne, The Killers, KT Tunstall, and Fall Out Boy. With new features players can enjoy anytime, anywhere, a brand new Rockstar Editor to fully customize your band members, No Fail mode and Stage Stunts, Band Hero changes the way games can be played on the road.

Like with LEGO Rock Band this is very "Mainstream" friendly and there are probably 11 songs I might like...at a push...and one of those is already on GH5. Still I guess DS owners will want it. In the shops it comes with this crappy looking drum case thing but it only fits of DS Lite models which is stupid but then Activision probably doesnt care. Its such a shame that you cant choose the 30 songs you want from 65 that the console owners get but then again...blah blah etc.

WireWay

My Wanted Level: I'd give it a go.
Forum Wanted Level: Some want it

Region: North America Genre: Platformer/Puzzle
Developer: n-Space Publisher: Konami

Konami haven't been that great on the DS, aside from Castlevanias and a few other titles they are a far cry from their earlier days. Will this be something they'd be proud of?
QUOTE
WireWay stars Wiley, a well-intentioned yet troublesome alien who has strayed from his space ship and while left to his vices, he travels the planet jumping from place to place continuously finding himself in more mischief and mis-adventures. Using the DS stylus, players flick and fling Wiley through over 40 levels interactive gameplay, dodging everything from rocks to spikes, collecting power-ups, knocking out walls and running into some interesting characters along the way. All of this in an attempt to get Wiley back home in one piece.

* Launch Wiley with the wire to reach his goal while overcoming the crazy obstacles and enemies that get in his way
* Flip, Rub and Draw Wiley through his adventure!
* Flip Wiley with the wire using stylus.
* Rub the screen with the stylus to stretch and alter the wire for maximum launching
* Draw your wires in to assist Wiley to tackle the adventures in Puzzle mode
* Avoid dangerous obstacles like falling rocks, eerie skulls and spiky floors, or else you’ll get hurt
* Break the wall or use the Key to open a new path and collect stars to Power Up
* Propel your way through 48 pulse-pounding adventures in the Quest Mode
* Create your own stages in Puzzle Mode and share with your friends
* Challenge up to 4 players wirelessly, in a multiplayer race using ADHOC

Could be good.

My Wanted Level High
GBAtemp Wanted Level Sort of want it

Region North America Genre: Platform Racey Thing
Developer: Ubisoft Montreal Publisher: Ubisoft

I miss Rayman, I hope he comes back. Anyway this is a Rabbids title that ISN'T a mini game compilation and looks more like the excellent games that Michel Ancel did like Beyond Good & Evil, Rayman 2 & King Kong. It is also directed by Beyond Good & Evil who also helped make those same games.
QUOTE
The Rabbids first comedy-adventure will take them to the moon or bust! Those crazy Rabbids have an infallible plan: collect all the human stuff they can find, heap it onto a giant pile and literally climb home to the moon. But not so fast! The Humans revolt, unleashing the Verminators whose only objective is to exterminate the Rabbids.accomplishments and special rewards.
* Everyone can hit the Slopes with the Wii -- The Wii makes it easy to free ride or compete. The Balance Board lets you control your jumps and tricks with the intuitiveness and fun of having a snowboard in your own living room.

* The Rabbids First Comedy-Adventure: Control two Raving Rabbids and their shopping cart and cause mayhem in a world full of uptight Humans with shopping on the brain. Collect varying sizes of human stuff to build the Rabbids sky-high pile of junk in their quest to reach the moon
* Make a huge mess and provoke hilarious situations in over 15 striking game environments: Scour through supermarkets, race across rooftops, jet past airports and boost through the Bayou, visiting the game’s unique take on everyday places
* Play over 40 missions: Race, chase, boost and generally run amok while scaring the Humans right down to their undies - literally! Ridicule reams of relentless enemies and their nasty pooches in an increasingly paranoid world of Rabbid-haters
* Unique Art Direction: Encounter a cast of colorful, oddball characters and explore a remarkable parody of the modern world as if you were living inside an interactive cartoon
* Variety of Gameplay: Soup up your shopping cart with a Jet Ski, an airplane reactor, or a hospital Bubble Bed to wreak endless havoc everywhere you turn. Learn to pilot your cart while boosting, jumping, gliding, floating and flying

Ubisoft are going all out on this game, they see it as their own Mario Galaxy. While I really dobut it'll be anywhere near as good I am expecting a very good game of high quality.

Need For Speed: Nitro

User posted image

My Wanted Level Fairly high
GBAtemp Wanted Level Fairly high, Wii owners are starved of this kind of racer that might actually be good.

Region North America Genre: Puzzle Platformer
Developer: Wayforward Publisher: Majesco Games

Oh shit a racer that appears to have had a lot of effort put into it that ISN'T by Nintendo and ISN'T a dumbed down port of the 360/PS3/PC version!!
QUOTE
Customize your car, take corners at 200 mph, and own your opponents. Need for Speed NITRO delivers the fun and exhilaration of high-speed racing with deep and challenging gameplay, where racing skills are not the only way to victory.

Master advanced techniques such as building up boost by taking risks on the road, then use it at the right moment to take the lead. But don’t forget about the cops, who will do everything they can to disrupt the race. And for the ultimate bragging rights, impose your graphical style on the world when you lead.

However you choose to race, never count on victory until you’ve crossed the finish line.

* Own the World— When you’re in first place, the walls of the city become covered with your graphic style. Now everyone knows that you’re the one leading the pack.
* Pick Your Ride— The style and spirit of the game are rooted in car culture, with 30 classic and modern licensed cars including muscles, exotics, tuners, and more.
* Battle to the Finish Line— Increase other racers’ heat levels to sick the cops on them, manage car damage to maintain maximum speed, and build up nitro with skilled driving to take the lead. The race is never over until you cross the finish line!
* Extreme Customisation— Trick out your car’s appearance using an incredibly deep yet intuitive customization system unlike anything seen on the Wii. Never before in a Need for Speed game have you had this much control over the look of your ride.
* Coop World Tour Campaign— Take part in illegal street races across five cities to unlock new cars, parts, tracks, and challenges. Up to three players can also join you to play cooperatively. Plus, race on 15 tracks featuring traffic, jumps, canyons, and events.
* Nitro-Charged Multiplayer— Up to four players can take part in intense races across seven race modes: Race, Team Race, Eliminator, Drag Race, Speed Cameras Challenge, Drift Challenge, and Time Attack Challenge.

The framerate looks spot on, I just hope it plays well.

Jambo! Safari: Animal Rescue

User posted image

My Wanted Level High, I really enjoyed the Arcade game
GBAtemp Wanted Level Zero, they'll confuse it with shovelware

Region North America Genre: Arcade
Developer: SEGA Publisher: SEGA

In my opinion SEGA can release updates to most of their arcade hits, and they've done a few already thathave worked out very well.
QUOTE
Jambo! Safari takes players on an action-packed African adventure of fun and excitement. Inspired by the classic 1990's arcade action title, these home games in the Jambo! Safari franchise reinvent the wild experience with modern graphics and deeper gameplay. As with the original, the new Jambo! Safari allows you to play as one of four safari park rangers, but this time they are fully customisable. With the ultimate aim of becoming a fully qualified ranger, players must take on high speed challenges and exciting rescue missions across the rich and varied free-roaming landscapes of the African Plains.

Using one of the four customisable vehicles, including the licensed Land Rover Defender 90 and 110, rangers will need to ensure the animals in their park are healthy and happy. The vast range of Jambo! Safari missions include rescuing animals in need, diagnosing and treating them before releasing them back to the wild, wildlife photography, sight seeing adventures and even hot air balloon rides! Swinging the Wii Remote like a lasso and using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to drive through the vast levels of Jambo! Safari Ranger Adventure and will immerse players in a true safari experience on the Wii console. Alongside the single player adventure to become a ranger, Jambo! Safari Ranger Adventure will also contain a co-op mode enabling you to share certain missions with a friend. The party games can be enjoyed by up to four people, so take your pick between Ostrich Racing, Meerkat Madness and more safari style fun!

It could work very well but as I said before gamers may confuse this with shovelware, I hope that if this turns out as well as the arcade game that gamers will give it a chance.
