thanks for posting the results nintendiw.

It's kind of strange that Super Mario Galaxy 2 isn't working in discex format with cdi.

The other results seem promising.

Thanks Nintendiw!! for the promising results.

I updated the link to v3 beta 2 and it's possible this fixed Super Mario Galaxy2 for DiscEX (not sure about it and can't test myself atm)

JoyFlow 1.1 b6 doesnt work with v3 beta 2

Hmmm strange.. I'll look at it

Maybe its not a problem of v3 beta 2. I think my vNAND makes trouble

EDIT: I made a new dump and i figured out that the problem is your v3 beta 2, because the original r168 kernel+di modul works great.

EDIT2: Your DI modul v3 beta2 makes trouble.

My testing so far:

I found the initial issue was my fault. I had the gc controller in an area that was making it interfere with the sneek menu, making me think the menu was freezing.

Oh, and I forgot to make sure the Wii region matched. Now it does and all works.

Anyway, Nurf N-Strike works. I need to test more yet.

I'm still stuck with a black screen on the system menu if I have a \wbfs folder on my uneek nand.

Using priiloader to load into joyflow works fine...both discex and .wbfs games are found that way. But returning to the menu still black screens for some reason.

EDIT: skip that last sentence. It seems like I got impatient a bit (it actually takes 43 seconds to fully return to priiloader -> postloader).

I am working on a version that writes a debug logfile on the usb drive.
It just doesn't want to work the way I do.
As soon as things work stable over here, I will PM you.

Hey guys, I've been having some problems getting the cDI to work.

I've been testing on 2 drives, a 25gb and a 850gb drive. Both are fat32 (32kb cluster) and only have one partition. With the 25gb drive I can load games, but all wbfs games blackscreen with the 850gb drive.

Also, does anyone know whether the cDI works if wbfs games are on another partition? I'm thinking of partitioning my 850gb drive so that the nand and the games are separated on different partitions.

The cDI and DI use the NEEK ES fs-usb to access the usb drive. Only the first active partition of that drive is mounted.
I think we are still having timing issues in cDI with harddisks that don't initialise at the first attempt.
We inserted a delay in the cdi startup that made things work for us, but probably we will need a better syncing mechanism.
Making that delay longer might help as well, but it's not a clean solution.

You probably don't care much about the technical details.
Let's say I am working on it and I will inform you and Wever when a new version is available for testing.

It's good to know the details of what may be going wrong. I don't know if this helps, but older versions of *NEEK used to give me this same problem with my hard drive as well (I think around rev100 or so).

Until then I still have the other drive for testing, so I can get started and I'll report my results.

I tested with one of my slower drives and first had the same problems. I also noticed that the diconfig.bin file wasn't created correctly.
Lowering the amount of games in the wbfs folder solved the problem. I tested this with upto 20 games and it all worked fine.

It looks like creating the game cache takes to long with a high amount of games on the device and I don't think it's necessary a wbfs problem.
Finding the wbfs game info is nearly the same process as finding the fst extracted game info.

Tonight i'm gonna test with a few tricks that should speed up the cache creation process.

Overjoy has overlooked the cDI sources again and has found some issues in it.
Due to those, the wbfs games didn't arrive properly in the diconfig.bin file.
This very likely causes the black screen problem. If it happens, you see a high activity on your harddisk led.
(If you have one showing activity)

Within a couple of hours, he will release a new version for our Beta testers that hopefully works for everybody now.
As a bonus, this new version also works with a /wbfs/xxxxxx.wbfs folder setup. No need anymore to have all games in a separate subfolder
of the wbfs folder.
