I installed bootmii in boot2, as an IOS, hbc and dvdx using the new hackmii-installer (I had already hbc and DVDx+Patchmii).
Here is the problem: i have a wiikey so in order to make DVDx working i need patchmii. But patchmii is in IOS254 and Bootmii (IOS) is also in IOS254 !! So when i start Mplayer it launchs bootmii I reinstalled the "old" DVDx (= not the one from bootmii installer), Mplayer of course didn't read any DVDs. So i modified patchmii_core to install itself into IOS253 and reinstalled DVDx (not with bootmii installer) and used the advance option to install DVDx stub in IOS253 And now everything works I uploaded the file if someone needs it: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=01b25f8...04e75f6e8ebb871 [EDIT:] ReUpload : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PR0X61JN http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=e5e2455...aada8390b259c5f [EDIT2:] Oops! forgot to upload the old DVDx installer -> http://www.megaupload.com/?d=R3L72DSH http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=e5e2455...aada8390b259c5f This post has been edited by xan105: Oct 27 2009, 11:54 PM |

Keep BootMii as Boot2, and reinstall the regular PatchMii/DVDx combination. There's no need to install BootMii as boot2 and as IOS, there's no benefit in it. Correct me if i'm wrong.

I installed BootMii as boot2 and as an IOS so I can get to BootMii (via HBC) without having to restart my Wii.

Sorry to reply to a really outdated thread but I have a modded Wii as well and want to play DVDs. But the problem is that I'm on system menu 4.0 and as far as I know there is no advanced installation option for system menu 4.0. So, is there anyway that this will work on 4.0? Also, 4.0 has a "dummy" IOS254. So if I just install PatchMii as IOS254 will it overwrite the "dummy" IOS254?
Any answers will be greatly appreciated Thanks This post has been edited by personager: Jun 23 2009, 10:41 AM |

I know this is a slightly old subject but I could use some help if possible.
OK so I've tried to install this and ran into a snag. I get through the modified patchmii install but, when I try DVDX I am not given the option of ios253. In fact the only ios's i have the option of are single or double digit, examples ios9, ios50. IOS253 does not show in the list. So I have no idea what to do now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just want to play DVD movies. I have system menu 3.4U, D2Key chip, Homebrew Channel installed through Twilight Hack. At the end of the patchmii install I have noticed it shows a line "install returned -1" Don't know if any of that will help but there it is for reference. Thanks in advance for any help.
