Since 2ch releases are updated slowly and the servers go down ocassionaly, I'll be releasing infolib.dat updates as soon as new releases are dumped (aprox. an update every 3~4 releases). The other reason is that every record of the actual updates is in japanese, and it's hard to follow as this includes XXXX titles, kiosk demos, etc and the release numbers differ.

Thanks to niu, the 2ch people (for starting this iniciative) and Boyakkey (the guy behind all this).

Notes:
-The library is based on the 2ch library dated 03/28/09.
-It won't include savlib.dat because I'm not updating it. (neither the 2ch guys, I don't know why they keep adding it in every file).
-The infolib.dat file is not related with game compatibility. It speeds up the loading times, in both DSTT's TTMENU and YSMenu.
-This infolib.dat does not support 3 games (thanks niu for the info):
*2745-Think Kids
*3268-Tropix!
*xxxx-DS Vision
-Infolib.dat does not speed up homebrew.
-Infolib.dat does not speed up patched ROMs. Only clean dumps (trimmed or not).
(If anyone wants certain patched ROM added, let me know)
-Games below #2437 (Jigsaw_World - Daigekitou Jig-Battle Heroes (JP)) are unaffected by this update. Those releases were already included in the last original infolib by the DSTT team.

If you are interested in helping, PM me.

Just out of curiousity, what *does* the infolib.dat do and how does it speed up loading times? From what I can see, it's primarily a list of game titles, identifiers and crc codes. Any ideas what TTMENU even does with it? I presume that if a game is in the list, then TTMENU doesn't have to do some extra step(s) to load the game, otherwise it would never work for games not in the list.

Al least, that's what I think.

When a game is added, the following is integrated into infolib:

-Game Title (extracted from titlelist.xml through the identifier)
-Date
-Identifier (header info+other data)
-A cheat (AR code?) named "PATCH" (pointers, I guess).

there's 14 methods of patch
without this, it, auto patching system, will try every methods step by step
with this, only necessary 1 will be applied

am I right?

I don't know if you're right, but it makes sense. Back when I was running YSmenu with the 1.16 firmware, starting a DS ROM would shift to a textual debug screen that showed the patches being applied. This explains why sometimes I'd see all 14 patches, while others I'd only seen one or two.

It's a shame that the card/firmware didn't just make a note of which patch worked when it loaded a ROM for the first time and then just used that one from then on.

It would be better if some mod stick this thread so I don't have to post every time there's an update to keep it alive.

Added Patch fixes by niu:

@K3Nv2 Snow Day is pretty fun. My only bitch would be the camera controls, when you move around, say down, you have to move the right stick left or right to get camera to turn and get your view, other than that I like it so far.

From what people say pvp isn't even worth it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
If you can find enough for it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Many of them did before colour television was common.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.

@K3Nv2, take into consideration how economy was back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why they listed inflation rates
