I know this is my first post, but don't let that stop you from looking at this. thomas83lin on *removed* has discovered a way to play gamecube backups without a modchip, although it does require SD gecko.

GameCube BackupLoader Instructions
How To Boot GameCube IOS’s\GCM files from SD Card on your Wii
Step One:
Requirements
1: 1 Original GameCube Game, any should work
2: SD Gecko Adapter [can be found on ebay]
3: 2 Sd Cards

Step Two:

DownLoad This Package,

Code:
http://www.uploadfiles.in/freeupload/download.php?file=773GamecubeLoader.zip

This Package Contains RVL-mios-v5.wad.out.wad, Start.dol And a apps folder That contains
these programs GCBooterHomebrew , and MIOSPatchingWADInstaller

Step 3:

Extract the package you just downloaded, And Place the RVL-mios-v5.wad.out.wad, Start.dol And the apps Folder to
the Root Directory of your First Sd Card

Step 4:

Run The MiosPatchingWadinstaller from the Homebrew Channel, IT wii ask you if you want to patch your Mios,
To do so Stick in your Gamecube Controller and Press A, After it Gets done it wii say Installation Complete

Step 5:

Get your Second Sd Card and create a folder in the Root Directory And name it GCGAMES, you will place your
Gamecube IOS’s or GCM Files There.

Step 6:

Take Your Sd Card With The Ios’s on it and place it in your Gecko Sd Card Adapter, Place the Gecko Sd Card Adapter
in the Gamcube Slot A.

Step 7:

Turn on your Wii and place a Org Gamecube Game in the Wii now Start The GC Booter program From the Homebrew Channel,
It will then load you into the Sd-Boot.4 Program and if you followed the steps correctly your IOs’s will showup
automatically, just Select the ios you want to play and that’s it

I figured this out by accident, just playing around with some older homebrew.
Has been tested on
Zelda Master Quest
NGC - Megaman Network Transmission.iso
Both games plays Great.
Here is the compatibility list for the SD-Boot

Mate I would remove the site that you mentioned as it does link to game downloads. Just warning you. Beside from that, it does seem to work as I have already seen something quite similar to that method before.
