Hacking fail0verflow tease Linux on Switch

What I personally think is that things like this shouldn't be posted here, (Or well, should be able to be posted but i meant should not be posted out of it being pointless, not saying blacklist). They don't help the community, they only hurt. People who are complaining about it not being released, have a right to complain. Of course it doesn't give a right for them to have it, it's private.

People complaining about the people complaining have a right to complain also, but are seeming sort of... suck up? I can't find the word. A**holish? (or something in a kinder sense).

If it wasn't posted here, when it shouldn't fully have been, maybe just to give confirmation that it can be done and then LOCKED by a moderator, then there wouldn't be any complaints (because locked). There'd be an instantly better outlook (or as best as it would of been) for this forum by outer eyes (to those who do give a shit about the face of this forum//reputation).

I'm on neither side for this thread. Of course I have my opinions, but I won't say them. (If I have, I don't remember. I did originally read this thread when it was just a few posts)

I hope a moderator locks this thread soon, as this is just causing a bit of a disconnect, or rip between both people on this community, and those who sometimes browse/post, such as developers who wish to release things.

f0f is Team Twiizers' rename; they contributed pretty much everything for the Wii and early DSi.

You would've know if you looked at the members names, or if you were around reading gbatemp news along the years.

I don't say it's something you HAVE to know about, but if you're gonna badmouth someone at least research who are you badmouthing.

Whatever, I never paid attention as I had no reason to. I still can't trust them after them turning tail and never coming through for the Wii U. They never should've worked on it, that would've been better.

Honestly though, I'm starting to get really ****ing tired of all these "Private" exploits. If you don't intend to use it personally, AND you don't intend to release it, then what good does it do anybody?
Fail0verflow is doing no good for the community with the way they're currently operating. Great, now we know it CAN be done. Doesn't do us much good if we can't actually do it, now does it?

I think they will relese the linux os when they are done with it. But wont relese the exploit

Okay, I think we got your message and point that you're against Team f0f after the 15th time you posted about them just in this topic alone.

Almost 2 pages worth.

You did the same thing before, complaining about upgrading your Nintendo Switch many times over and over, in multiple topics.

I will admit, I haven't looked if you've trashed f0f in other topics, but 15 posts (future posts pending) in one topic would definitely be more than enough, I think. You seem like you have an angry, aggressive personality when it comes to your posts, and I'm sorry to see it, man. You seem like a generally good guy when you're happy, but when you're angry, you go full Hulk. I think you might benefit mentally and health-wise chilling a bit.

Take it from me, I used to be such a bitter, horrible person on forums, but after toning things down and realizing positivity balances over negativity, I've become a much better person and positive influence, and I hope that some day, that might help you out as well!

Doesn't literally every even semi-controversial thread cause a "rip in community"? It's just how things are, and we have to live with those rips.

But getting on-topic - Not releasing an exploit is logical, as it may cause legal trouble for the hacker group and will cause the exploit to be patched sooner (if it isn't already). Just posting ONE image and calling it a day is a somewhat dick move tho. Some explanation on the bug as to how it works and how it allows code execution would be a really nice addition on their blog.

TBH IMO Switch is really underdocumented besides version 3.0.0, which is the only one that has a public exploit, despite literally every hacker group having their own sploit that works on **every** version

Sad to see this place is worse now than when I left it. It's a cool thing to get linux running on hardware for the first time, and I find it upsetting that people can't just accept that someone is messing around with a console for fun.

People can release exploits easily without being caught, sadly enough. But you're right. It will cause a rip, but i just say that to try and not let there actually be one. maybe people would notice and try not to argue as much, or cause drama. ya know, that "we should get along" bs that is said, etc.
