fastboot3DS is a bootloader for the 3DS console, intended to be installed to the FIRM0 partition. It allows you to assign homebrew in .firm format to bootslots, and to chainload bootslots via either a bootmenu or a button combo of your choosing. fastboot3DS also contains basic tools for NAND backups and restores.

Instructions for installation are included in the readme. Hint: If you are afraid of a brick (won't happen) and / or just want to try fastboot3DS without a proper installation, you can also chainload it via your existing bootloader. If you have boot9strap installed, you'd just rename fastboot3DS.firm to boot.firm and copy it to the SD card root.

@d0k3 where would the scene be without you. thank you very much.

also very professional looking photo.

Thank you! The photo... N3DS not in mint condition, lightning far from perfect and also reflections on the screen. I guess it's okay for one done without any professional equipment :).

With all we already have, what is more with it ?
Actually, you won't get any functionality that wasn't available before in some way or another, but stuff may be more comfortable to use. As you may know, there is already boot9strap, which is a simple bootloader that will chainload boot.firm from either the SD card or the CTRNAND, and you can also install GodMode9 as bootloader.

Compared to GodMode9, you get more customizability (boot slots, assigning button combos to boot slots, selecting any .firm as your default), and also screen-off boots, which make your 3DS look unhacked. Compared to boot9strap, you get more customizability and integrated tools for NAND backups and restores. fastboot3DS can't dump the bootroms, though, which boot9strap can. fastboot3DS can be especially helpful if you're loading a CFW that has no integrated chainloader (bascially all but Luma 3DS), or if you want a multiboot setup.

Uuugh..... I can't decide if I should use this or stay on GM9 Bootloader! Also, I can safely install this to firm1 as well, right?

Pretty neat.Once you install it on the firm0 would there be a way you could hide the menu on boot but hold something to get back into the menu? It seems to only auto boot on reboot since I have it setup as a firm right now.

Edit-Nvm I had to go into change boot mode and select quiet mode.Could you also include a payload option into it aswell?

With this i can both use rei 6 and luma ?
Correct
This is pretty much a (much better looking) Luma chainloader that is separate from Luma itself, allowing you to boot ReiNAND, Luma3DS, GodMode9, and more right from boot.

Yes, you can. Wouldn't make much sense, though. Maybe try both and see what fits your needs more?

Being honest here, there are some known issues left. Were hoping to get behind them, but we still wanted to do a release now, so everyone can have a look. For Rei-Six, there is some trouble in rebooting to GBA VC / DSiWare, and for GM9 you need to use the nightly (for now, a release is coming up during the next few days

Set the bootmode to quiet, hold HOME on boot to return to the menu. It's even in the Quick setup guide :).

Is there any plans to allow FIRM1 to be configured as a boot slot?
Dev Mode access is required :creep:
How to enable dev mode? *cough* K*n*m* code *cough*, entered *somewhere*. I'll let you guys figure that out, don't really want it on the first page of this thread. It will be known eventually, but we don't want everyone using it.

I remember seeing the very first episode back in the day, and have watched every episode since. I used to set my VCR to record them even, shows how long ago.

I just like any comedies really, and cartoons have always been a favorite of mine. Family guy, American Dad, Futurama, Cleveland Show, Simpsons - I like them all.

South Park is great cause they always touch on relavent issues going on today, and make something funny out of it.

@BigOnYa were you always up to date on the current events and issues of the time or were there issues that you first found out thru south park
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Most of the time yea I knew, I watch and read the news regularly, but sometimes the Hollywood BS stuff, like concerning actors slip by me. I don't follow most Hollywood BS (example: the Kardasians)

  • S @ salazarcosplay:
@BigOnYa there were relevant issues before south park was made, that's why i think a south park prequel/spinoff would be great. Randy and his friends in their child hood

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, like them running in high school together, getting into stuff, and how they got hitched and had kids. And how the town of South Park was back then compared to now. That would be cool to see.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@salazarcosplay if they made a prequel, it would still be about current issues, cause it doesn't make sense to make it about stuff that happened 30 years ago that nobody cares about anymore
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's too late
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the older south park episodes about particular issues usually age poorly since the topic is no longer relevant

an exception is giant douche vs turd sandwich, that's always relevant :P
