YES, PokeTransporter is FREE and using it is FREE too:P
But I can't download it.. Whenever I try to download it, It says I need to buy a pass. (I launch the app, press start, it says I need a pass, I click no and I can't download Poke Transfer.

It USED to let you download it without one in the first version of Pokebank, now they've put it after the pass check. Just ask someone to dump it into a CIA or something...

I'm not sure of the dev's current stance, but he's previously indicated he would not be adding support for the VC games.

From memory, the reason cited was a lack of interest in purchasing the games, and given his strong anti-piracy stance that leaves no other means of getting access to them.

The project is Open Source, anyone is welcome to add support for the VC titles and lodge a pull request.
I know but one can always hope...

I have a problem... I don't know how to transfer pokemon from Platinum to UM. How do I do this?
I'm pretty sure you have to do it the old fashioned way. Transfer to Gen 5, then to 6 and finally Gen 7. I don't think PKSM can transfer from pre-Gen 6 to Gen 7.

Why is that?

Because it works and is more efficient then using the official way of transferring.

(complete next game then play a weird mini game just to transfer gen4>
Gen5)

Gen5>gen6 is poketransporter then retrieve from bank same for gen6>gen7

Pkhex way> just open lower gen save in pkhex and dump the boxes then import the pk files you wanting into the desired game.

Once the desired Pokémon are in gen6 you can continue to use this as your bank.

Not that it even matters too much as between gen6>gen7 most Pokémon can be obtainined.

I only recently went the official route to then dump the Pokémon to see how to handled compared to the pkhex way and I won’t be doing the official way again

i had to be super legit and borrow my friend's 3ds and her copy of pokemon black 2 to get my pokemon off of heart gold, then poketransporter everything into sun.

I wanna know how plausible it would be to bring a pokemon all the way from gen 1 to current with only legit methods. (just out of curiosity)

I remember doing that ugh it was a pain. Transferring over some pokemon I had since since FR/LG/RS/DP/HGSS too much work to o that ever again.

You can only officially do Gen1/Gen2 from VC releases but it works just fine, if you really want to move your legit cart save from RBY/GS you need to dump the save then import them into a VC release then Poketransporter them over to SM/USUM

Where to put pksm tools ? (I inserted in the 3ds folder where other stuff are like jksm/pksm etc)

But i got red screen when starting for example the filter to create a info sheet for my mons.

Do i need to put in pksm folder?

Edit: Nevermind, just saw that the pksm tools didn't have what i was looking for..

(I need to create a info sheet of the mons i own)

@EventAssistant I just wanted to say the QR scanner is working much better in the latest update.

You should check out the FBI code, the dev did an excellent job with the QR scanner it's super fast and detects codes automatically.

You're best of using PkHex
Why is that?
Pkhex way> just open lower gen save in pkhex and dump the boxes then import the pk files you wanting into the desired game.
It's actually even easier than that.

You simply open each save game in a separate instance of PKHeX, then drag and drop between the two gens.

They're converted automatically exactly, as if you as if you did them manually across gens/hardware.

Even before the VC releases you could convert between gen1/gen2 and gen3+, they were still legit, but now they use the official criteria.

True but sometimes pkhex has issues like that it even screwed afew of my pokemon being legit, when I dumped them and then closed and opened another session and imported it was fine.

Yes you could convert before but since they mentioned Legit methods I said only official ways.

The QR feature needs to be fixed i can scan one just fine then like 5 minutes later i can not scan another one tried for 10 minutes to get it to scan seems like just dumping my save is quicker

Is there any way to rename the boxes for bank? I'm at the point where I need a third subscription of bank, and it's... a hassle because you need multiple consoles. I'd like to use this as an alternative rather than using my spouse's 3ds, but I have my boxes organized by pokeball type. Having to go by "Box x" instead of "Heavy 03" makes it a bit more difficult to find the pokemon I would want to take out.

Only reason I don't have it by dex number is if they add a new pokeball, as it would require reshifting everything. I guess it's not an issue when this is the last 3ds pokemon game though.

I've got .cia versions of Pokemon D/P/HG/SS, and the save files are saved under "SD:/roms/nds/Pokemon Diamond.sav" (or whichever Pokemon game). Is it possible that when selecting one of the NDS Pokemon games in the save editor, you can give the option to search for a .sav file as well as the cartridge?

No. He doesn't support flashcards. PERIOD. Use PKHeX for that.

Or just use an IPS patch for it, it works a lot better.

Ok either way, it's the same difference. The program only supports official cartridges, not ROMs. Whether they are read from a flashcard SD or a console's is irrelevant.
I thought the program extracts a save file from the game then edits it (so the .sav file should be technically extracted?).
