Smogon is back at it again with their bs! They've banned Naganadel to Ubers just because they got their asses handed to them, but still haven't done anything about Landorus/Thundurus or the other broken things in OU:P

I haven't payed attention to smogon's stuff for a while, and that sounds like a fine example of why.

I stopped caring about Smogon because of things like this LONG ago! Reason they banned it is because it can't be one shotted by most priority moves while also hitting too hard to switch into and then take a second hit too. Like seriously, can't you just attack the damn thing while it's setting up since it's HEAVILY reliant on Dragonium-Z for item so it can't even have Focus Sash? What's with the "you must switch" mentality on Smug-on? It only takes a good hit to kill it, yet it's considered broken, but the mountain of things in OU that are actually broken are fine...

Let's see what OP things there are in OU that should be banned for stupid reasons like that:
mega Alakazam (used wisely, Trace can get something like a Beast Boost or Psychic Surge and sweep through even full Ubers teams)
mega Diancie (crazy high offenses and a ridiculously OP signature move to patch up that defense which is already high enough)
Kyurem Black (seriously? one of the hardest hitting Pokemon in the entire game with an above average bulk and it's not in Ubers?)
Landorus Therian (dear god, ban it already!)
Mimikyu (only one set but still deserves Ubers for stupid reasons, Z-Bulk Up, then sweep with Drain Punch, Leech Life and Shadow Claw while boosting more if you get a chance)
Victiny (Z-Celebrate and then STAB Stored Power while also having another STAB 100 base power fire move with 30% burn rate)

And I could go in detail about how many Ubers shouldn't be Ubers, but you get the idea, Smogon sucks!:P

Landorus-T before Defog is Ubers quality you think? I never tried it in Ubers. With Defog, for sure, it poses more of a threat now. Ehh, I read the article explaining the ban as well as addressing counterarguments, one common thing mentioned is the downplay of a sacrifice. Their reasoning being that it's not considered a victory-making thing. In 3-on-3, sure, but 6-on-6, some kind of sacrifice early on can wreck Naganadel and leave a team open if they're particularly built around it. Whatever the case, it at least gives me an idea for singles Battle Tree, that Nasty Plot / Dragonium Z set sounds nice. It also mentioned non-OU pokemon being able to switch in or take care of Naganadel, but because they aren't OU, they don't factor into the argument. Eh, they should, because then their usage is increased and they get promoted to OU. I don't know why Mirror Coat isn't seen as viable. Specially Defensive Milotic, Mirror Coat, boom, done. That's one of my favorite mons that can Mirror Coat. Oh and Swampert, Blastoise, bulky water mons with Focus Sash can manage and they can all Mirror Coat it.

Since you mentioned Mirror Coat, that's exactly what I've been using to beat Naganadels in the battle spot, Mirror Coat+Focus Sash Serperior:P Their whole article is stupid, all they are doing is making fools of themselves. It doesn't really hit that hard and they assume that you will DEFINITELY be switching in to something when facing a Naganadel, like you can't just stay in while it sets up (because it HAS to in order to do any decent damage) and attack it/paralyze it or something like that. They completely failed to even mention how a paralysis shuts it off big time even after a Beast Boost in speed or how a LOT of lower-tier mons can take it on easily. SO WHAT if they aren't OU? You should be able to use everything from bellow that too just fine, what's the deal? And let's not forget that with Mimikyu being so common, it's not exactly hard to counter it, Shadow Claw and if it lives you can finish it off with a Shadow Sneak...

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Smogon's tiering choices. The reasoning is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of their choices will go over a typical viewer’s head. /s

I'd redo the whole copypasta, but I am lazy. I'm more interested in Poipole than Naga, if only because it's adorable. Someday I'll make a team that focuses on utility and power as opposed to looks. Maybe.

PIMPNITE made a cool Poipole set in case you are interested, full bulk Eviolite Poipole with Toxic, Venom Drench, Rest and Sleep talk:P Tried it, fun if you can pull it off but it's useless against things that are resistant to Toxic...

I have a cfw 3ds and I would like to evolve my magmar by trading it with a friend. The 3ds hasn't been connected online since before I downloaded UM. So how do I trade. Can I trade evolve with PKSM or something.

You can either use PKSM or PKHeX to change the species to a Magmortar or just trade normally. Since you said you will trade with a friend, if it's locally, you can simply use Quick Link without needing to go online or on the Plaza.

Thank you I think I'll go with the Quick Link option :)

I don’t think that’s always the case though because my Araquanid has water bubble and not water absorb.

Without checking them all, I did notice a pattern. If they have only one non-hidden ability, they are gifted with that, explaining Araquanid and Lurantis. If they have 2 non-hidden abilities, such as A-Marowak and Ribombee, it will always be their hidden ability that's gifted.
