That's exciting and all, but after Odyssey does anyone really care about this anymore? Pre odyssey I had seen some hype for this, but now that hype seems to have died down. I already played this on the PS4 anyways a while back, so I won't be getting it.
Odyssey is a good game, but I honestly enjoyed both Yooka-Laylee and A Hat in Time more. They hit a nerve that made me 100% them in one go while I have Mario on hiatus right now (I returned to BOTW instead). When it comes to visual style, humor and especially music, I'd argue that Yooka-Laylee is superior. Odyssey has better gameplay, though.
But you are right, the hype has died down and selling it digital only won't help. I'm still glad it comes to Switch, though.
As it got closer to release and major gaming outlets reviewed it, my hype crashed and burned. I have never even touched the game.
Seriously, you haven't even played it just because of reviews? Do yourself a favor and check out this one:
I think it manages to summarize what's wrong with the game (I'm not claiming it's perfect) and explain why it's still awesome.
There were shitty mini games, frustrating mine cart sections and sometimes wanky physics but those won't ruin an otherwise fun and solid title.
But you know, if you didn't even bother to ever finish Banjo, those games might simply not be your cup of tea. Tastes are different, so that's okay, but please stop calling it "trash", especially if you haven't experienced it yourself. I think it's an obvious labor of love by a small team that is not back in the game quite yet.
