Can you RNG for perfect shiny starters after RNGing for the ID?

Yes, but read all the guides/ tutorials before attempting either.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I saw the S.O.S. chain feature... and I had a bit of insomnia last night... Either PCalc is pulling spreads from some mystical place or in USUM the chain doesn't reset after 225.

Ive noticed that the Select button seems to fail when trying to Advance frames quite often. Have to just spam it until the game actually starts working. Tested on multiple New 3DS too! That aside, I am loving this plugin! Opened my eyes to RNG and I have been having so much fun with it!

Its quite a long video, and I hope no one minds the self plug, but I did a video guide on how to RNG wild encounters if anyone needs help doing it:

(Sorry if the plug isnt allowed!)

If you're only RNGing for wilds, that's because sometimes the frames freeze on a blink, I think Rotom dex blinking or your synchronizer. It's more noticeable on low NPC areas such as 0-1. Even without the game paused, if you look at the frames, you'd see it stopping and then picking back up. That's because of blinking.

That makes sense since I only encountered this problem in 0 NPC areas. Thanks for the insight!

Does that make it more beneficial to find spots with maybe 1 or 2 NPCs for wild rng to make it a bit easier to manually advance? Since I don't recall encountering the blinking problem with areas that are 2+ NPCs

0 NPCs is preferred because you will always hit any frame you want. I think USUM though has most encounters at 1 NPC, so the lower the better.

I'm having quite trouble to understand Timeline 2.0.... Where are the famous "fidget" on 3 ds rng tool? And when i hit calculate after checking timeline nothing happens, i see no fidget...

The guide shows what the fidgeting looks like.

https://github.com/wwwwwwzx/3DSRNGTool/wiki/Gen7-Timeline-Calibration-(PokeCalcNTR-Only)

Pay attention to the timeline, if the frame jumps to something not in the timeline, that means the fidget happened, and you put down what the last normal frame was before the fidget. The guide explains all this, I just paraphrased.

RNGing this was easy, catching it in a Beast Ball was frustrating.

I blew off all 105 Beast Balls in one session, it used up all its PP in the second session and blowing 63 Beast Balls there, third session was the charm, only took 10. I was really surprised.

I don't get why it's hard to rng Solgaleo/Lunalaa in USUM, I always rng wrong IVs, then retreat just to re-rng repeatedly to no available, Any help would be appreciated. x.x

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
