Homebrew I5-8600k (5th best single core) is worth buying to run citra better?

I have an i3-3220, I can run Inazuma Eleven GO: Light in 30fps practicing the whole game (only cutscenes have a drop to 15-20fps), Pokemon Omega Ruby runs at 30fps in several parts, but in cities there is a drop to 18 -20, in battles not fps crashes, do you think an i5-8600k would give me a good performance? Worth it? I'm sorry for my bad english D:

Depends on how much more graphics power you need, and if you'd be happy with a slight upgrade that will depreciate quicker, or if you want a little more than you need and be good to go for a little longer and have more updated/new programs work seamlessly.

Let's be honest here, it's NOT. To go from the CPU you have to i5-8600k you need to get a completely different motherboard, along with new memory, so it's definitely not worth it for that 10-12 frames you are missing. If you just want a strong PC in general and not just for emulation, then yes, it's worth it, but just for emulating stuff on Citra it's not. Also, it might not even be the CPU's fault, check the CPU usage and system resource usage for example, could just be your graphics or something like that that's causing the framedrops.

in battles the use of the processor is only 35%? this is normal? my video card is a GTX960 2GB

Of course not. A 3DS is much cheaper.

Sounds like your CPU is not the bottleneck.

Claro que não. Um 3DS é muito mais barato.

Parece que sua CPU não é o gargalo.

is that I want to play only inazuma eleven go light and omega ruby pokemon, so I do not know if it's worth buying a 3ds, if I invest in the pc there are more games to play

Then I was right, it's definitely not the CPU. If the problem was with the CPU, then it would be at least at 85% usage when the lags happen. How high is your RAM usage and your hard disk usage? You can check those by pressing "Ctrl"+"Shift"+"Esc", then moving to the "Performance" tab and clicking on "Resource Monitor...". From there you can monitor the usage and resource distribution of your CPU, RAM and HDD. If none of them is above 75-85% usage, then it's just your GPU like I said. If it comes with a monitoring program, use it to check it's usage or just try to turn some settings down like Anti-aliasing and V-sync. But again, the CPU is not the problem like I thought. See if you can raise the FPS with different settings if you find out it's the GPU's fault.

Again, if you want a strong PC in general and just have emulation on the side, then it's worth upgrading.

I can run Sun/Moon on Citra just fine with stable 75FPS just using my FX6350. Citra is not that CPU heavy, although it IS unoptimized. For me there's a GPU bottleneck when going over 80 FPS, but that's it and I'm not even using a high-end card (Sapphire Radeon R7 265x 4GB Crossfire edition without Crossfire though).

From what people say pvp isn't even worth it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

If you can find enough for it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

@Xdqwerty, Many of them did before colour television was common.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.

@K3Nv2, take into consideration how economy was back then
