Capcom to focus on making Switch games, including Ace Attorney

IMG_5480.JPG

Within the last week, Bandai Namco and Square Enix have both come forward to pledge that they will certainly be publishing more Nintendo Switch games, as they find the console a runaway success. Today, Capcom joins in on claim. During an interview with Jiji, a Japanese magazine, the Capcom COO claimed that there are multiple titles in the pipeline for the Switch, one of note being a new Ace Attorney title. This was the only series the COO mentioned specifically, (sorry Monster Hunter fans) but the majority of these teased games will reportedly be released in Japan by April of next year.

Haven't seen anything worthwhile from Capcom lately, so I'd just keep enjoying my Switch with the games it already has and will get within the next months. So if Capcom screws up again, it won't be that much of a loss.

Same goes for EA btw.

Knowing Capcom when they talk about Ace Attorney on Switch they mean yet another Ace Attorney HD port.
It seems more logical for them to release new entries on the Switch than on the 3DS at this point. Another port is likely though I expect any new entries would release on Switch.

I own a Switch, it's great and all, but it feels like Capcom is thinking : "Oh boy, we gave them a SNES game with just better graphics and they bought that many copies? Let's see what happens if we do it again."
I really hope I'm wrong and that there will be new games

I kinda get the feeling they're not localizing double cross on the 3DS at this point.

I think they might, but they aren't going to heavily market it. While they instead market the Switch localization. Because if they localize it for one of the systems, the bulk of the work is done to implement it in the other. But it may not be very cost effective to print physical copies of the 3DS version, so I can see the 3DS localization only being available digitally while the Switch becomes available both physically and digitally.

Yooooo new Ace Attorney for console? HYPE!
I've always thought Ace Attorney could benefit from a console release. The 3DS models in AA5 and 6 were particularly lackluster.
there were the wii releases but...ya, there just ports that only have sprites

Edit: I don't care how many people hate motion control, I want a sequel to zack and wiki.

The spritework in the 2D games was quite good but the 3D models didn't feel as fluid, which could possibly be fixed by releases on the Switch, hopefully in the form of a new entry into the series.
