This is going to end up like the crunchyroll exploit that was supposedly coming out months ago.

Yep because we haven't in the past had so called reputable devs announce something only for it never to be heard of again lol.

Maybe people is being more cautious about this instead falling into the OMG hype to be dissapointed later.Weird, when this kind of news ain't generating much hype. Is the Wii U scene really dead?

Well, from what I understand he's going to exploit the app similarly to tubehax. It'a not haxchi. It will more likely be somewhat similar to browserhax than contenthax.
It would be cool if:
1- it's around 100% stable.
2- it's not blockable without updating the software.
3- works on latest fw
Otherwise, it would just be another browserhax method, having the same stability issues.
But even then, he isn't really giving me much confidence on his approach from what he wrote on twitter. Time will tell though. Let's see if something comes out of this.

Look my tweets were saying it wasn't a guarantee, just it is an exploitable app and I'm attempting to work on an exploit. Of course there is no way I can ensure I finish, just wanted people to ensure they could download it in case it goes down similarly to the google street view thing. As for those wondering how this can be exploited it is very different to the Crunchyroll exploit in that:
1- it's around 100% stable.
2- it's not blockable without updating the software.

These concerns should all be covered just fine. I doubt they'll update the amazon app with a newer webkit version tbh and if they do it won't matter for those who have it already as they can't force it down your throat. The exploit would be installed similarly to haxchi (working on a modified version of the haxchi installer in order to install it) so it would be local, so it isn't as simple as them updating a page on their servers.
Trying my best but real life is pretty good at finding ways to give you no free time, so if it takes a month or two to come out then my bad. And please understand if I fail to deliver, but frankly I have a lot more going my way than previous attempts have had so it should definitely be doable if I'm able to allocate the time.

- I have JIT, so after ROP it's basically free
- It's webkit based from the start, so it's got a pretty consistent heap layout (good for consistency) and since it's webkit (and a very outdated one at that) there are plenty of bugs to choose from.

My understanding is that the app is just a front end app. Meaning they can change how it works from amazon's end, and for you to get a working app again, you would have to update it, which will obviously have tha hack patched.
YouTube from what I remember did something similar on the 3ds. I don't remember it entirely since I never used it so maybe someone can further elaborate.
